    2006 Season

    May 17, 2006

This award is bestowed upon the one player who in the mind of her peers and coaches displays the most untalented, idiotic yet hilarious play of the game. And for our 1st game of the season, this award is bestowed upon our one and only "CORN". Why might you ask? Well if you look at the picture above for this award, and take a good look at the ass, look at its face, looks like it is unaware, confused, bewildered - dense maybe!!! That is exactly how Corn looked when she hit the ball and decided to watch it instead of running to 1st base. Then when we thought she had awakened from her "BLONDE" moment, she started to run to 1st base, the opposing team decided to try and tag her, but with the wrong hand, but "CORN" of course, still not fully with us, decided to stand and think about it for a minute. Then with a little YELLING - I mean coaxing - from her caring teammates, she finally came out of her second "BLONDE" moment and again headed towards 1st base. And guess what - she was still thrown out. Some people are just special!!! One good thing did come out of all of this though, it allowed me to make an easy decision for this illustrious award. Congratulations "Corn" and just in case you're having another "BLONDE" moment, we still love ya, and you can take a bow now!!!!!

    2005 Season

    14 July 2005
As you can see, there has been no entry's in a few weeks, that's because we have been playing awesome ball, but last night we did have a winner for this award. It goes to Becky "Blonde Moment" Shea for her outstanding stop at third on a hot shot but then went "Blonde" with 2 outs and tried to hold the invisible runner at second, then made a almost (not even close) throw to Hammer halfway between 1st and home plate, maybe "Hammer" needs to work on her stretching abilities. Honorable mention has to go to Carly Heishman for her power hitting abilities to right field (Barely rolled it to 1st base) after getting down in the count 1 & 2, danced a quick two-step, and golfed a shot to the 1st baseman who is probably still waiting for it to get to her. Nice job Carly!!!!

This is the first award of the year, c uz the coach has been slacking, so I give myself the Jackass play for all previous games, and promise to try and keep up from now on. So to start my first Jackass moment came when "LL" & "Corn" couldn't decided who was going to catch a ball hit between them, so they got together for a meeting of the minds, if you know what I mean!!! "Corn" walked away with a nice battle scar on her left cheek, and "LL" showed such a caring heart, which I think is a great, but please do me a favor next time and get the ball in first before you display those great qualities. So for that overall cluster, amusing as it was, I proclaim that the "Jack ass Moment of the game!!!! But I still love both of you!!!!

    2004 Season

    JULY 14, 2004
Sorry Nikki, but we're going to give you the "Jackass" moment. We were trying to get an out on 2nd, and Nikki went about it in an unusual way. She had a wild throw and the ball ended up on the ground 2 feet in front of 2nd base. Keeping her foot on the base, she stretched as far as she could and put her hand on top of the ball, trying to get the ump to call the out. Well, he didn't (a rookie might have) and the girl was safe. But it was pretty funny anyway. Nice try big dog!!!!

    JUNE 30, 2004
This week it was pretty unanimous on the "Jackass" moment. Corinne was on 1st with Jason & Bo yelling at her to go to 2nd and it seemed like her feet just wouldn't move. When she finally took off for 2nd, she appeared to be running in slow motion - it looked pretty good from where we were all sitting!! Sorry Corinne, but you had the "Jackass" moment of the game!

    JUNE 23, 2004
We couldn't really think of a moment that truly stood out as our "Jackass" moment, so we decided that Kimmie running into Jen on the last pop-up of the game would be the winner. "Jackass" Honarable Mention goes to Bo, for thinking that he should win the "Hot Damn" award for his stellar coaching performance. BUT, once I read the paper this morning and saw the scores from the games last night, I decided that the true "Jackass" award would go to whoever filled out our scoresheet and put us down as the Hi Ho Tavern instead of TJ's/Rhino. Bo, did you do that???

    JUNE 16, 2004
Usually every week we fight over all the stupid things we did during the game to come up with our true "Jackass" moment. But this week we actually played a complete game without anyone having that moment we all dread. So we decided that our "Jackass" moment would have to be the umpire catching our spectators drinking by our dugout. Way to go guys!!

    JUNE 9, 2004
Well Amy, sorry to do this for you. By a majority vote, Amy Mardis wins the Jackass moment of the game. Showing off her football skills (or lack of), Amy tried to throw a one-handed, backwards Brett Favre pass to Angie at first base. It was a nice try, but looked pretty damn funny....we still love ya though.

    JUNE 2, 2004
Coach Bo thinks we're all jackasses at the moment.....should we practice??!!

    MAY 26, 2004
Well, once again we had a few moments, but 1 seemed to stand out in Coach Jason's mind. Lori Hester, an outstanding left-fielder and hitter, stepped out of the batter's box on a pitch and was called out. First time we've seen that called in a while....

    MAY 19, 2004
It was very difficult to come up with only 1 "Jackass" moment - we seemed to have several. Coach Bo, thinking Angie had lightning speed, giving her the green light and sending her home - Angie not sliding when she got to home - nobody telling Angie to slide - Amber stepping on a slippery 1st base and sliding in the mud - an umpire who didn't know how high 12' is and calling over 30 "illegal" pitches. It was just not a pretty night for the Rhino team. So I think we'll just call the whole evening our "Jackass" moment. Also, Patty from the big sister team wanted us to be sure and mention her "Jackass" moment, throwing the ball way over the head of Marla playing 1st base. It's OK Patty!

    MAY 12, 2004
Our first winner is Nikki Hunter. Picture this: 7th inning, 2 outs & bases loaded. Nikki comes to the plate. We're all looking for that big hit that we've seen her do in practice. Instead, she looks to Bo coaching 3rd and apparently sees him give her the bunt sign. SO, she swings big and hits the ball 9" in front of home plate. The catcher picks up the ball and steps on home plate - game over. We had several plays that could have won this award, but we decided that Nikki should wear the crown. So Nikki, congrats on being a part of the "Jackass" moment of the game! (We still love ya though)
