The time is set: Sun up to Sun down (well 8-3 actually for pickup, 8 til done for delivery)

Mulch Sale Fast Approaching

April 1st is fast approaching:
If you have not done so please print and mail your checks TODAY!!! xxx
Orders will be accepted thru Friday- but it is up to you to be sure it gets to Vicki at 15520 Pennyroyal Lane by then. If you mail it allow 2-3 days for delivery. If you want to drop it by in person just call ahead 301--924-4707.
With 10 days to go we were at the half way point of our 10,000 bag goal. Help us get over the top!!!!

MULCH SALE --- APRIL 1
It's Just Around the corner......Gwen and Vicki posted all the bright orange sign boards and the fliers have been mailed. Do your part to spread the word to spread the mulch!!
Our mulch is safe: some people are getting an email that is spreading an eRumor about termites from Louisiana infesting mulch supplies around the country. Our suppliers do not use Louisiana mulch. Also, reliable web reports dispel the rumor-please see more detail in the "Handouts" section or read the Washington Post story: Post dispels rumors as well (click here)

Mulch Planning Meeting - Get Involved
February 4, 2006 --
Chairperson Vicki Grant is held the initial Mulch Sale meeting on Saturday January 7th 11-12 at her house. Minutes follow:
Mulch Committee Meeting
January 7, 2006
Attendees: Vicki Grant, Duke Owen, Doug Moritz, Ellen Johnsey, Terri Zetts, Lennie Melvin, Susan Weinstein, Gwen Zecha
1. Committee reviewed job duties and confirmed person responsible for each sub committee.
- Flyer coordinator – Susan Weinstein
- Volunteer coordinator – Cheryll
- Financial coordinator – Duke, Tim, Vicki
- E-mail coordinator – Duke
- Food Coordinator – Lennie
- Signs – Gwen
- Set-up – Doug
- Secretary – Cheryll & Vicki
- Publicity – Doug (to notify Gazette)
- Advertisement – Jane Hartman (will send e-mail advertisements via RamsNet)
- Safety – Terri Zetts
- Equipment – Susan & Vicki
2. Price of mulch was discussed. Price will be determined at later date once we have final cost.
3. Discussion was held regarding the use of equipment. Exact needs and sources for the equipment and operators is under discussion.
4. Graham Garvie is redesigning flyer to be mailed.
5. Next meeting is scheduled for February 4, 2006, at RHS staff lounge.

Mulch Sale Date Set: April 1, 2006 -- Mark the Date !!
The date is set for the first Saturday in April.
Vicki Grant is heading up the committee and is welcoming all ideas and offers to help at RHS_BoosterClub@yahoo.com (here she begins the process 6 months ahead to get things changed from April 9, 2004 to April 1, 2005) ====>
