Cheerleaders & Families:
It is hard to believe the summer is over and school in back in session! We are approaching competition season and our teams have been busy revising and cleaning up their routines. Competitions are the time when the cheerleaders get to see why we work so hard all year and how rewarding it is to give the performance of a lifetime.
I am very proud of how the team tumbling has been progressing!!! The 2008-2009 cheerleaders have the most/best tumbling skills of any of our past seasons. This can be attributed to many returning cheerleaders that have been working on their skills for several years, along with many new cheerleaders that have such strong determination to become great tumblers! The Pee-Wee Team has 6 out of 11 back handsprings , the Purple Team has 7 out of 11 back handsprings, the Black Team has 14 out of 15 standing back handspring and 6 back tucks. WOW! We are continuing to work towards team & individual goals.
I am so amazed at how our Mini Team is growing!! We are up to 17 team members! We are considering going to 2 classes since we have had so much interest. My goal has been to build the RCA Cheer Program from the youngest age on up. When children begin at such a young age, they gain so many skills early on and feel a dedication to the sport/program which in turn leads to AMAZING talent/teams down the road as they grow older. A true testament to this was watching the Women’s Gymnastics Teams at the Olympics…seeing how young the athletes begin training and the skill level they are able to reach. Congratulations to Shawn Johnson from Des Moines, Iowa which goes to show even the biggest goal like the Olympics is possible (even in Iowa) if you work hard and set your mind to it!
Cheers,
Heather
Hello!
I hope everyone's summer went well! I know mine was great and it flew by! I am so excited to begin our dance season for the year. I certainly missed it over the summer.
Through dancing I hope to instill a passion for dance in all my students and teach them skills that they are able to use throughout their life: discipline, self-confidence, attitude, teamwork, rhythm, lifetime friendships & agility are just a few things that your dancer will walk away with.
My love of dance and children has led me to this rewarding career. Every child is unique in his or her own way and I look forward to the challenge of helping them feel successful in their dance education. I enjoy helping my students excel and being the best person they can be!
If you have any problems, questions or concerns please contact me immediately. A situation cannot be fixed until I know! I am happy to answer any questions. :) I look forward to meeting all of my new students and seeing some familiar faces too!
Keep on dancing,
Miss Cara
