As an alternate notification vehicle to the website, you are able to call 469-261-6212 to hear the rink condition information explained below. With this new capability, you will have 2 methods for understanding rink condition status. Sometimes the rain out line will be busy. You can use the website league audio feature as a back up. Sometimes you may have trouble with timely access to the website. The phone number will be there for your use as well. The rain out phone line will always be the most current status. It is the easiest and fastest to maintain. This communication tool may be updated right up until game time, since all you need to do is call to get the update.
ONE REQUEST FROM MANAGEMENT-When using the rainout phone line, please do not leave a message. You will not get a response. This is NOT intended to contact league officials. This line is being used to report game scores, and if the mailbox is full, your game score might not get input correctly, or in a timely manner. Please use one of the other available avenues for contacting the RHA. Thank you for your cooperation.
The League Audio feature (described below) will be a close second in accuracy and timeliness, for the same reasons. It, however is not quite as useful since you have to use a computer to access the information.
New this year, the website has a button called "League Audio" on every page at the top of the menu on the left of the web page. If you wait until the music quits playing, and then click on "Listen", the rink condition will be communicated to you. This feature is updated as soon as conditions change and we are able to observe those changes. We can update it from a cell phone, so, the conditions broadcast should be pretty accurate and timely. We will make every effort to update the recording no later than 1 hour before scheduled games and practices. We will also use the information below in our recording to communicate conditions. Games can easily be rained out. The surface is not kind to skaters when it is wet.
Last Update: rink condition is ONLY reported on the phone number stated above, or on the League Audio feature. If the message you hear does not give the current date, then it has not been updated.
Rink Condition Explanation
Playable – game on, self explanatory, be there or be square.
Wet – not playable now.
Questionable – to close to call. Rink is partially wet, and may dry by game time. Players must show up on time as the game may or may not be played. Condition will change to Playable or Wet at game time. The referees have final say in this determination. This web site may not be updated, so, again, show up on time, unless you hear from your coach.
Down for maintenance – not playable now.
Unkown – need input on current conditions to update to one of three conditions shown above.
