Letter From The League Administrator
Dear RSC ,
I guess this sounds more like a state of the union address but more of an informative session to let you know how things have progressed and what it looks like for the future. The Saturday league will finish it's regular season { Oct 31st } next week with the playoffs to begin the following week on Nov 7th. The Heavy Hitters and Los Cerveceros will have a first round bye with the remaining 4 teams battling it out in a best 2 out of 3 series. The first round of playoff games will have 1 umpire with the remaining 2 rounds with 2 umpires to complete the season. The Sunday season will have it's doors on the regular season close on Nov 1st with playoffs to begin Nov 8th. It is a trying time for all as the weeknight league closes it's doors on the regular season as of this week which pretty much ends as of Friday. The playoffs will begin with 2 umpires as this will be the shortest playoff structured which should take 2 weeks to complete. A lot of the teams have gone up and beyond the call of duty for RSC and it's duly noted that everybody here is pretty much happy and some can't wait for the summer events to happen so that new talent can be acquired and a chance to find out where they really stand amongst the best RSC has to offer. Please remember the Summer Sunday league will have 1 season as we unveil new plans , new agendas and new teams who will make an impact. The history of what the teams did will be recorded at seasons end and added to the team roll call so that the league can continue to monitor it's status as to who belongs in the Rough Riders division and who will remain in the Warriors division. I will continue to update you with more stuff including a open letter for the umpires to read as this has been discussed during the year about what went right and what went wrong including my own plan of action as we once again seek to distance ourselves from other leagues and continue making our family league a place to be.
Sincerely yours

2010 Managers Contract
This contract being drawn up for the 2010 season is for the managers to use as a guideline in which all things are to be followed as this matter will also be addressed in the managers meeting on Jan 5th. Please be advised that all rules outlining this contract stipulates what's to come and what is expected as a guiding force between you and the league known as RSC SOFTBALL .
Managers are to setup a pre-roster on the leagues website that should not exceed more than 21 players. This isn't an official roster as your final roster will be due with contracts to be signed by every player you are planning to keep for the upcoming season. Please be advised that players who play in the Sunday league can only play in 1 division with the exception of the newly created Sunday Pm division where those games are at a later time.
Uniforms are to be worn by all players at the expected deadline along with matching caps. This league is going to change and I want us to have a more professional look as I've avoided the subject of pants for now. Rest assured this subject will be approached somewhere down the line in terms of players wearing pants. Teams must have one uniform whether it be shirts or jerseys but all must look the same.
Players Contracts are to be signed by every player that you intend on keeping for the 2010 season. Players that are let go must be let go 1 week prior to the official deadline so that they have a chance to join another team regardless of what they did and the rosters will be due by no later than the 5th week. So this means that all players who are not going to be kept must be let go by week 4. Managers must download the Player Add/Change Form from the website and sign with the intent of whose being let go so that we can make changes as deemed necessary to keep track.
League Warnings are used just like a business when players do something wrong and all records are kept so that just punishments will be delivered along with the appropriate fines. Managers must adhere to these warnings as it affects your team and the player. Hopefully it will not come to this and it's in the Handout section for you to view.
In closing the league reserves the right to make any changes that are deemed necessary and not limited to awards and prizes set forth for the upcoming season.

Sunday Plan
The Sunday American league will be re-named to the Rough Riders Division as this league will consist of anywhere from 16 to 22 teams maximum playing between 8:00 am and 11:00 am at selected ballfields. The league fee since it will only be a one season event will be bumped up to $ 900.00 dollars with a forfeit bond of $ 60.00 dollars per team. There will be no increases in referee fees and I'm drawing up 2 plans for which you the teams can choose from :
Plan A :
Teams can pay the league fee and the forfeit bond which gives you a total of $ 960.00 dollars for the season. Forfeit bonds are returned at the end of the season or will be applied to any other league you choose to join in RSC or held over to the following season in 2011. Since this will be a long season rosters have been increased to 21 players maximum. This way if you lose a player for whatever reason you have more than enough to finish the season with. The following breakdown can be applied as follows :
* 16 players = means each player pays a total of 60.00 dollars
* 18 player = means each player pays a total of 54.00 dollars
* 21 players = means each player pays a total of 46.00 dollars
Plan B :
I know times are rough so the league is working with it's umpires who can furnish you softballs at a reasonable price which means we would supply the softballs for the entire season except the playoffs. League fee = $ 900.00 dollars + forfeit bond = $ 60.00 dollars + softballs {44} = $ 252.00 dollars bringing the maximum total for the season at $ 1,212.00 dollars. The following breakdown can be applied as follows :
* 16 players = means each player pays a total of 76.00 dollars
* 18 player = means each player pays a total of 68.00 dollars
* 21 players = means each player pays a total of 58.00 dollars
Now this also does mean I'm not thinking about the players as well and I once sent this formula to the managers and if the players adhere to this formula you can win in the long run after league fees have been paid :
With referee fees at $ 60.00 dollars per team x 21 week season = $ 1,260.00 dollars
* 16 players paying $ 5.00 dollars a week x 21 weeks = $ 1,680.00 dollars
Savings of $ 420.00 dollars which can be applied for the first 3 rounds of the playoffs in which you don't have to come out of pocket except for $ 20.00 dollars if you make it to the championship game
* 18 players paying $ 5.00 dollars a week x 21 weeks = $ 1,890.00 dollars
Savings of $ 630.00 dollars in which no referee fees whatsoever for all rounds achieved and still having $ 150.00 dollars left over to either keep or apply to the next league you join.
* 21 players paying $5.00 dollars a week x 21 weeks = $ 2,205.00 dollars
Savings of $ 945.00 dollars in which no referee fees whatsoever for all rounds achieved and still having $ 465.00 dollars left over to either keep or apply to the next league you join.
This plans works if all players do their parts by paying every week even if you miss a week you simply double up to keep the formula working for the season so that during the season you don't have to worry about softballs , no umpire fees in the playoffs whatsoever and a small worry about the next league you play in as it dwindle downs to next to nothing. How's that for a plan?

Sunday Plan 2
Now with this plan outlined for the Managers and the players , the question has become what will the league do in turn to show some solidarity? Okay , I will invoke the following plans for the Sunday league since their will be 2 divisions. Oh , before I move forward with this breakdown , no players from the Rough Riders division can play in the Warriors division < National league > and vice versa. All divisions will be competitive at it's best with only the players the managers have brought in to compete. Okay , back to the breakdown :
I will take one league fee from each side and return it back to you in this formula for 2010 :
Division Champions receive $ 600.00 dollars for coming in first place
Best Offensive Team receives $ 150.00 dollars for most runs scored in a season
Best Defensive Team receives $ 150.00 dollars for the least amount of runs given up in a season
$ 900.00 dollars given back to the teams !
Championship prize will be determined after all monies have been collected and all permits paid in full. Prizes will either be determined before the season begins or no later than the 3rd week of the season. Now the teams have 4 different prize levels to achieve in RSC in 2010. Just remember that since one league fee is being returned to you in some form or fashion the number of remaining teams left will be used to decide the championship prize so that everybody can not say we did not know the leagues structural breakdown. Happy trails.....

Complete Sunday Package
Summer 2010 promises to be a new ground-breaking era in RSC as new arrivals will test your might to the fullest. RSC once again will re-establish the Sunday league as I stated we will go with 16 teams in each division which includes 3 divisions in all to choose from :
Sunday Am League will be the teams who will compete from or should I say between 8 am and 11 am. Battle lines will be drawn including upgrades in prizes but with a small twist as I will not use another leagues formula in terms of money break downs but instead use a formula for the teams striving to be all that they can be. Those plans will be outlined after all meetings have been concluded. Competitive level is high !
Sunday Pm League will be the teams who will compete from or should I say between 1 pm and 3 pm. Battle lines will be drawn including upgrades in prizes but with a small twist as I will not use another leagues formula in terms of money break downs but instead use a formula for the teams striving to be all that they can be. Those plans will be outlined after all meetings have been concluded. Competitive level is normal !
Sunday Night Lob League will be the teams who will compete from or should I say between 5 pm and 8 pm under selected ballfields. Battle lines will be drawn including upgrades in prizes but with a small twist as I will not use another leagues formula in terms of money break downs but instead use a formula for the teams striving to be all that they can be. Those plans will be outlined after all meetings have been concluded. Competitive level is open as this is a new division for us !

October 11, 2009 --
I would like to take this time to apologize to the league as it was job to get the umpires dressed but due to a back log in shirts we were not able to get the job as I had little time to make other arrangements. All umpires will be in uniform for next season with a new look as I will take the time off after the season to get this job done so that when we meet we in the off season to go over a little debriefing no one can say they didn't know. We are going to push the envelope and discuss all things that happened this season to insure that equality is met. All umpires who work in another league will not have the same amount of work that other umpires here are getting. I need to create a balance even though it's not your fault that you have room to do a lot more but it should be a balance in which we try and utilize things because the umpiring unit was one entity. I have also added new rules and regulations to be followed so that no one can say they didn't know. We are getting together soon , guys. I need everybody's cooperation to make this work. Once again , thanks for listening!

League Bulletin
Please remember these calendar dates as expressed from the earlier posting so that you can't say you didn't know at all :
Jan 10th : First league meeting. Deposit of $ 300.00 dollars is due. Teams can also pay in full if they wish.
Feb 21st : 2nd league meeting in which a deposit of $ 250.00 dollars is required. Schedules will start to be made from this point on as we would have paid the parks dept in full for the entire year.
Mar 14th : Final meeting and the required deposit of $ 300.00 dollars is needed to finish off everything in which we can determine the championship prize. All championships prizes will start at $ 2,000.00 dollars and climb based upon the number of entries.
The league will not have games scheduled on Mothers Day , Easter Sunday , Memorial Day weekend , Labor Day weekend and Independence Day weekend. The RSC Louie Camoia/Dave Colon softball tournament will be moved to Saturday as it will be easier to manage and for those who didn't know it's a single game elimination event. All teams can enter as there is no entry fee other than paying referee fees and bringing a new ball for each round you advance to . Winner get's a free pass into the fall classic 2010 season starting in September!
