SYFA Football Coaches Information
To All Perspective Football Coaches:
Coaching is a very rewarding way to be involved in youth sports. Generally, a coach assumes the responsibility of doing everything possible to ensure that the youngsters on his or her team will have an enjoyable and safe experience while they learn football skills. If you are ever in doubt about your approach, remind yourself that "fun and fundamentals" are most important.
Requirements:
Being a coach for the SYFA program takes a lot of commitment. Perspective coaches will be required to complete and submit the following:
SYFA Coaches Application
SYFA Coaches Creed
GBI Background Check Form
These forms can be found in the Documents & Handouts section of the website.
In addition all SYFA football coaches will be required to obtain coaches certification through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association as well as attend the SYFA Coaches Clinic.

Please visit the National Alliance For Youth Sports website at:
Start by selecting "GA" as the state in the drop down menu in Section 2, then select "Sharpsburg Youth Football Association" as the chapter from the drop down menu in Section 3. Complete the registration process by filling in the remainder of the form. Cost of certification is $25.00.
Tenure Coaches will visit:
Once you have completed your renewal process please email Clayton Lawrence with your MBR #. The SYFA will consolidate the list of tenure coaches and forward to NAYS transferring your membership to Sharpsburg Youth Football Chapter. We are asking coaches to complete their certification or renewal before July 16, 2008.
The SYFA is very proud of our football and cheerleading programs and will strive to make sure the best possible candidates are coaching the children of our league each year.
