Stunt Clinics

Dates and times for stunt clinics are noted below and they are all being held at the gymnasium of the Dennett School in Plympton.  It's important that everyone attend as this is when the coaches begin putting together and evaluating their stunt groups for the season.  Same rules apply - dress as a cheerleader, bring water, be on time, bring your enthusiasm and get ready to work hard!

Midgets: April 29th, May 13th, May 22nd, June 5th (4 dates); 5:30-8 pm

PeeWees:  April 30th, May 8th, May 28th, June 3rd (4 dates); 5:30-8 pm

Mites:  May 7th, May 21st, June 4th (3 dates); 5:30-7:30 pm

Uniform Try-on

The date for uniform try-ons has is scheduled for Sunday, May 19th at the Faunce School on Green Street in Kingston.  Mites:  9:30-11:00;  PeeWees:  11:30-1:00; Midgets 1:30-3:00.

If you missed the try-on date, or are registering after May 19th, please contact Joanne Jones (jmjones929@yahoo.com) immediately so we can get your sizes for merchandise (vest, skirt, bodyliner, briefs, sneakers, etc.).  After June 1st, merchandise will be what we have left in stock; filling orders can take longer as we get into the summer and the supplier's stock begins to run out.

The SLYFC cheerleading program is open to children in grades 2 through 8 (squads are based on the grade you are entering in the Fall, not age).  We love seeing our returning cheerleaders and are excited to have new cheerleaders join us, whether you're entering grade 2 or grade 8!  Previous experience is not necessary to participate in our program.

For additional questions, please contact Joanne Jones or or Jennifer Ingersoll (our contact information can be found on the "contact info" tab on the left).

Being a Cheerleader and what you can Learn
As coaches and coordinators, there is so much we teach the kids and so much more they take from this program outside of the actual mechanics of cheer.
  • RESPECT yourselves and others
  • PERSEVERE and stick with things - progress is slow but it comes
  • be POSITIVE young ladies, value yourselves
  • SHARE your abilities
  • HELP your peers
  • TEACH the things you know
  • BE a positive leader in your COMMUNITY
 (Thank you Coach Maryann!)
