In Loving Memory of Lawrence R. "Larry" Sorensen who got the Lakers started. Was lost to the Laker family on January 25, 2005 after a battle with cancer. Born on June 8, 1935 in Superior, WI to Jens R. and Lillian (Hansen) Sorensen and was a lifelong Superior resident. He married Patricia Bergstrom on August 25, 1956 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Superior and celebrated 48 years of marriage. Larry started Upper Lakes Foods in March of 1967 and owned and operated it for the past 37 years. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Elks Club #403, United Commercial Travelers, Ducks Unlimited, and the National Rifle Association. He loved deer hunting, enjoyed boating, fishing, and being at the cabin. He also enjoyed traveling with his family and was a supporter of area youth hockey and football.
