2009 12U Warriors Clash Rules / Guidelines
These rules will supersede all high school / Little League / Babe Ruth rules. Any rules not covered will revert back to the fore mentioned rules.
All teams must be at their game site 45 minutes prior to their scheduled start time. We are on a very tight time restricted schedule, please be ready to play. If both teams are ready to play before the scheduled start time and the field is available, the game will start earlier.
Forfeit time is 10 minutes past the scheduled start time unless there is an approval given by the tournament director.
Home team will take the third base dugout. If a team has just completed a game on the same field, they will remain in the same dugout.
No pre game warm-ups or batting practice on the game field. Warm-ups are the responsibility of each team prior to the scheduled start time. NO SOFT TOSS INTO ANY FENCE!
No more than a 10 minute break between games.
Each team will supply the umpire with their line up card, 2 game balls, and review ground rules.
Line up cards must have all non starters listed with numbers; all players on the bench must be listed.
The umpire will inform each manager as to the official start time. No inning can start after the one hour and 45 minutes. The game will resort back to the last official full inning completed to determine the winner.
The home team will be responsible for the official book. It highly recommended that each team and umpire confer with each other following each half inning to confirm the score.
Home teams will be determined by a coin toss.
There will be no time limit for the games played on Sunday.
Tie Breakers will be:
1. Head to Head (if more than two teams, start at rule 2)
2. Least amount of runs allowed
3. Run differential
4. Coin flip
Games will be 6 innings long.
Official games will be 4 innings.
There will be a 10 run mercy rule after 4 innings.
A maximum of 10 batters in the line-up, however, you must finish with the same number that you started. An EH and a DH may be used. If a team has no replacement for a player removed, that team will take an out each time the removed player’s spot comes up to bat. For an injury, only the first at bat will be charged an out.
Players starting in the field may come out and be reinserted one time. Pitchers can come out and return to a defensive position but not to pitch. A player who is reinserted must be placed back in their original spot in the batting order. All players including fielders, designated hitters, and extra hitters in the line-up will be considered a starter.
Each team is eligible to submit their line-up how they seem fit, the two opponents can choose different line
up styles.
All changes in the line up must be reported to the umpire and the opposing team as they happen.
The catcher and pitcher can have a courtesy runner with two outs. The courtesy runner must be a player not in the line up. If all players are in the batting order it will be the last batted out.
A maximum of 6 innings pitched is allowed in back to back games.
No warnings for balks.
An intentional walk only needs to be verbalized to the umpire. No pitches are required to be thrown.
All appeals are verbal. The pitcher is not required to step off and throw to a base.
One trip to the mound per inning, the second trip will require the pitcher to be removed unless it is for an injury. A maximum of 3 trips per pitcher per game.
One offensive time out per inning.
A defensive time out will count as a trip to the mound.
Injury time outs do not count.
Bat Rules: No bat restrictions.
Base running rules: Head first to any base except home. No collisions, if the umpire determines a collision was intentional, the player will automatically be ejected from that game and the next. Leading is allowed.
Catchers must be fully protected equivalent to high school rules. All players must have ear flaps on helmets.
Any player warming up a pitcher must wear a catcher’s mask.
A pitcher cannot wear white sleeves or a multi colored glove.
Only one player allowed in the on-deck area.
