The Buckingham County Youth League Junior Varsity Football team came in 2nd place in the James River District to qualify for the post season. The only team in their way of repeating to the Super Bowl is this season's 1st place Amelia Raiders JV Team. The Raiders are the only team in the district that have put a couple of "L's" in the Knights' win-loss column.

The game started of as a defensive game with neither team threating the other offensively. In the 2nd quarter the Amelia team broke through the Knights defense and scored two touchdowns and ending the first half of the game with a 13-0 lead over the Knights.

After the game, but teams get together

The second half of the game, the Knights threaten to score, but the Amelia Raiders defense kept the Knights out of the end zone. The Amelia Raiders defeated the BCYL Knights 13-0 making the Knights the 2016 James River District Championship Runner Up.

BCYL JV Fall to the Raiders

The Buckingham County Youth League Junior Varsity football team travelled to Amelia this past weekend to play the Raiders in their season Finale'. The Raiders defeated the Knights in the first meeting 20-6 and wanted to get revenge. However after the Raiders jumped off to a quick 18-0 lead in the first half of the game, it was hard for the Knights to get back in it. Both teams scored 13 points in the 2nd half of the game as the Amelia Raiders defeated the BCYL Knights JV team with a 31-13 score.

The BCYL JV team came in 2nd Place in the James River District and will have to play the 1st Place Amelia Raiders  in the James River District Championship game on October 29th. The game will be hosted by Amelia, which means the Knights have to deal with the Raiders on their Home tuff for the JR District Championship.


 

BCYL JV Falls to Bulldogs

The Buckingham County Youth League Junior Varsity football team squared off against the Brunswick Bulldog this past weekend. The Brunswick Bulldogs came out scoring first and didn't let up. When the smoke cleared, the BCYL JV team was down 35 - 0 as the BCYL JV Knights suffered their second loss to the Bulldogs this season.

The next game for the BCYL JV team is tomorrow at Amelia County High School as they take on the Amelia Raiders in the last regular season game.

BCYL JV Shut Out the Patriots

The Buckingham County Youth League Junior Varsity Football team hosted the Charlotte County Patriots this past weekend. Due to the excessive amount of rain from Hurricane Matthew, the game was postpone from Saturday to Sunday. Sunday was a better and good day for football.

In the last meeting between the Knights and Patriots, the Knights travel to Randolph Henry High School the second game of the season and defeated the Patriots 19-0 at their field. How will it go at Gene Dixon Park?

The BCYL Knights JV team scored early in the 1st half to take a 19-0 lead against the Patriots. In the 2nd half of the game, the Knights scored Touchdowns in the 3rd and 4th quarter as well. Completing on the PAT on both touchdown in the second half of the game, the BCYL Knights JV team defeated the Patriots 33-0 as they advance to 6-2 in the James River District.

After a 33-0 victory the BCYL JV coaches give out their post game pep talk.

The next game for the BCYL JV football team will be at Gene Dixon Park as they will host the Brunswick Bulldogs this weekend. The Buckingham County Youth League Football and Cheer will be setting up for our Homecoming festivities before the games.


 

 

An Eagle Sweep

The Buckingham County Youth League Junior Varsity Football team this past weekend went into Farmville and played the Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association Eagles. This game was pretty much like the first meeting which was the first game of the season at Gene Dixon Park. On Aug. 20th the Knights defeated the Eagles 20-0 to start the 2016 season off with the victory. The second time around and playing at Prince Edward the Knights defeated the Eagles 19-0 to advance to a 4-2 record.

The next game will be on October 8, 2016 as the Buckingham County Youth League will host the Charlotte Patriots at Gene Dixon Park. Check listing for game time. 


                                                         

BCYL JV Another Win

The Buckingham County Youth League Junior Varsity football team travel to Charlotte Courthouse this past weekend to take on a tough Charlotte Patriots JV team. Last year the Knights defeated the Patriots 6-0 in the first game, and 33-8 later into the season. Can they continue to put up victories in the 2016 season?

The BCYL JV team jumped all over the Charlotte Patriots JV team early into the games. By the end of the first half, the Knights added their third TD to bring the score 19-0.

In the 2nd half of the game, the Knights let their defense end the show by not allowing the Patriots to put up a score and finishing the game with a 19-0 victory.

With the scoreboard showing 13-0 in the 2nd Qtr, the JV Knights rushing towards the end zone.

Advancing with a 3-0 regular season record, the BCYL JV team will travel to Brunswick to play the Brunswick Bulldogs next weekend. Check listings for more information.
