B.M.H.L. Cup (League Champions)

The "Holy Grail" of men's hockey in Bothwell. Awarded annually to the playoff champion since the
league's inception in 1972, the modern version of this trophy was handed out for the first time in 2012.
Weighing in at 21 lbs., it takes an entire team to hoist this legendary cup.

President's Trophy (team with most points - regular season)

Awarded to the team who finishes the regular season in first place based on points. Named after
former league president Jeff Moorehouse, who's insight and vision with the reigns of the B.M.H.L.
ensured that the league would become what it has today.

Named after B.M.H.L. living legend, Guy Sherman who finished top 5 in scoring 12 times in 16 years

Rick Wilkins Award (most valuable player - playoffs)

Named after Rick "Prof" Wilkins, who's career in the BMHL stretched until his 54th year.
In that time, Wilkins was a tenacious competitor who took on an alter-ego come playoff time.
His drive, determination, and leadership led to numerous B.M.H.L. Cups.

Named after arguably the best defenseman in B.M.H.L. history, Jimmy "the Weez" Hamilton,
who was noted in the league for his defesive stalwart, cunning spins, and high-flying moves while
winning 6 B.M.H.L. championships

Ron Horvat Award (Best Defensive Forward)

Named after legendary BMHL player Ron Horvat, who despite playing only 2 season in the the
league, had a lasting impact on the way the game is played. Horvat, who enjoyed a prosperous
professional career in the BHL (England), could prevent a goal as well as he could score one - and
he scored 67 in 1986/87.

Lonnie Hamilton Award (most gentlemanly player)

Named after B.M.H.L. great Lonnie Hamilton, who despite standing 6'4" and weighing nearly 270 lbs.,
did not receive a single penalty in his B.M.H.L. career. In Fact, Lonnie's first penalty came as a member
of the Bothwell Bullets Sr. "A" team - at the age of 28

Chris Sterling Award (most outstanding rookie)

Named after B.M.H.L. veteran Chris Sterling, who as an 18-year old rookie, joined a struggling Raiders
team after being called up from the Blenheim Blades at Christmas. In the remaining 14 games of the
season, Sterling posted 46 points - including 22 goals - as the Raiders earned a birth in the B.M.H.L.
Cup Final.

J. Wright Award (Come back player of the Year)

 

This award is named after long time BMHLer and former executive, Justin Wright. J Wright first joined the BMHL in 2004/05
and enjoyed great success winning a title in his first year. His life was turned upside down when he was badly injured in an car
accident. He was paralyzed for a while but worked his way back into not only walking but returning to the ice in 2007 and even
winning the MVP in 2009! This new award is to recognize a player who had an off year in the previous season and came back 
through hard work and determination toenjoy a successful season on and off the ice.

Neil McWilliams Memorial Award (Most Valuable Drinker)

Named after B.M.H.L. great Neil McWilliams, who during his career had a 4th place finish in league scoring in
98/99 and also drove into the guard rails of the Bothwell Bridge numerous times.
