10-U RED WIN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AT MEDFORD KILLER B TOURNAMENT

Bombers go 4-0 in the Medford Killer B Tournament outscoring their opponents 53 to 8 and beating their in town rival, the Medford Renegades, in the Championship Game 6-3.

“What we saw this weekend was the payoff from all of the hard work that the boys put in over a long season. When we needed a clutch hit, we got it. When we needed to make a pitch, we made it. When we needed a big catch, we caught it. We simply played great baseball all weekend long and it was fun to watch” said coach Boles.

Cameron Vinson, Nick Dziuba, and Timmy Heslin were the three pitchers who held the Renegades to 3 earned runs in the Championship Game. Brendan Scott had the game winning hit to give the Bombers  enough runs to become Tournament Champs!!

10-U RED DEFEAT PHILADELPHIA BOBCATS POSTING .535 TEAM BATTING AVG

Nick Dziuba threw 2 scoreless/no-hit innings and went 3-3 with 2 RBI’s to lead the Bomber's to victory over the Philadelphia Bobcats.  Eddie Cashwell and Max Sakach each had two hits and 3 RBI’s between them while Timmy Heslin went 4-4 with 4 RBI’s.

“You could tell from the start of warm-ups today that the boys were loose and ready to play. Dziuba came out and completely shut down the Bobcats offense and our team responded with big time run support.” said coach Boles.

Sal Cusumano reached base safely in every plate appearance, scored three times, and had a stolen base for the Bombers . Sal has established himself as one of the premier leadoff batters in the league with his disciplined approach at the plate and his ability to bunt for a hit.  Cusumano leads the team with a .493 average and .630 on base percentage. Center picture below of Dominic Forte shows great mechanics.

SHOWDOWN AT THE SHORE UPDATE

       10-U RED GO 2-1

The Bomber's came to play at the Doc Cramer Blvd tournament over the July 4th weekend. The Bombers won their first two games outscoring their opponents by 13 runs!!!

Coach Owen was quoted as saying “This squad continues to exceed my expectations. The boys show up ready to play each game and leave it all out on the field. You can’t ask for much more from your guys.”

Max Sakach, Donovan Wu, Brendan Scott, and Eddie Cashwell all had .500 batting avg’s for the tournament while Sal Cusumano led the team with a .571 avg. The pitching staff, led by Brendan Scott, JC Dobis, and Nick Dziuba once again proved to be more than the opposing hitters could handle.  Their only loss came to the Titans on Monday which knocked them out of the playoffs due to giving up to many runs throughout the tournament.  Despite not making the tournament playoffs, taking two of three in any tournament is still an accomplishment.  Way to go Bombers!!!

12U GO 3-0

In the 1st game at the Showdown at the shore tournament the 12U Blue came from behind to beat a tough Stafford Rams team 7-3. Strong pitching again from Josh Knapp and  a stellar pitching performance from Jarrett Wambold 6 K's no hits led the pitching. Greg Alberts 2 run Homer led the hitting for the Bombers  as they got  off to a good start in the tournament.

In the 2nd game the 12U squad faced off against one of the best teams in the state of NJ the Teaneck Titans winners of 18 straight and coming off tournament wins at Ripken and Diamond Nation in June. The Bombers  trailed 3-0 early in the game but Mr. Dependable Josh Knapp hit a 3 run Homerun to tie the score and Jeff Love with a big 2 out single to knock in the go ahead run  that combined with strong pitching from starter Joey Robetson, Trey Crumpler middle relief and  closer Greg Albert as  the Bombers  were able to move on with a  4-3 victory to go 2-0 in the tournament.

The third game put the 12U squad against the always tough Tri-State  Arsenal. However on this day it was the Bombers  who used their offensive arsenal to score 8 runs in the first 3 innings combined with a lights out pitching perfomance by Josh Knapp 6 K's 1 hit in 3 innings followed by Jarrett Wambold and closed out by Joey Robertson for an 8-3 win to extend the Bombers  record to 3-0 as the 12U has only given up 9 runs in the tournament thus far.

In game one the Bombers came out and beat the Lacey Lightning 12-6.  Matt Christopher pitched three innings while giving up no hits and striking out and walking two.  Guest player Michael Rotindo pitched the last three innings giving up six hits while mowing down four.  The team totaled up 21 hits by the time the game ended.  Garrett Carella, Nate Liedtka and Ryan Graham all led the way with three hits a piece.   Cooper Quigley, EJ Mangione, Sean Dugan and Michael Rotindo all had two hits each as well.  The team had a total of 21 hits in 32 at bats giving them a team batting average of .656 for game one.

In Game two, the Bombers  lost a game that probably should have been won.   In the first inning two runs scored when only one run should have on a dead ball thrown in to the third base dugout.  Final Score was 5-4.  Nate Liedtka and Ryan Graham both pitched well while throwing three innings a piece.

The final score for game three was Bombers  18 and the Mt. Olive Marauders 8.  Matt Christopher, Ryan Graham and Nate Liedtka all combined their pitching efforts to hold the Marauders to 8 runs through six innings.  Going in to the fifth inning, the team was down 7-4 until the Bombers  did what they do best,  HIT!!!   The highlight of the inning came off the bat of Nate Liedtka who blasted a grandslam over the fence.  Doubles were also added in the game by Carella, Christopher, Liedtka, Graham and Cooper Quigley.  The Bombers  came up with 14 runs in the fifth inning with a total of 22 hits in the game.

12U Red:  Took Care of Business

Good pitching, good defense and timely hitting was the recipe to success for the Bombers  Red. Colin Pollard pitched a complete game in the first game (5 inning affair) with the  bombers  winning 14-3. Pollard was mixing up pitches very well, keeping hitters off balance with a fastball, change-up and curve ball mix, including picking off a runner at 2nd base with a great inside move.  Everyone was in on the hit parade in the first game, which led to a ombers  victory.  Tommy Robinson was 3 for 4 and Colin Pollard, Joey DeGenova and Travis Guaracino were all 3 for 3.  Guaracino and DeGenova both had doubles.

The 2nd game was started by Max Gussen on the mound, who went 2 innings and gave way to Travis Guaracino who pitched 4 solid innings of relief. Again the Bombers  swung the bats well putting up 10 runs in the 2nd game and holding the Cinnaminson squad to only 4. This game went the distance but the Bombers  Red came out on top 10-4.
The first inning the Bombers  came out and scored five runs on hits by Pollard, Boblenz, Koveleskie and Jake Fernandez.  Travis Guaracino also stole home.  Jake Fernandez was 3 for 3 with a double.  Collin Pollard and Robby Koveleskie were both 2 for 3 and Aaron Funches also added a doub

10U RED GO 2-1 OVER WEEKEND SCORING 28 RUNS!!

On Friday night, Max Sakach, who hits in the four hole, went 4-4 with 4 RBI's in Friday's 15-9 win over the Washington Township Blue. Nick Dziuba, Timmy Heslin, Eddie Cashwell, and Sal Cusumano all had two hits a piece and 5 RBI's between them. Cashwell, Cusumano, Donovan Wu, and Heslin were the four pitchers that put in work and kept the Bombers  in the game.

Starting pitcher Brendan Scott had yet another solid outing on Saturday throwing 3 1/3 innings in what turned out to be an 8 inning nail biter of a game. EJ Mangione came in and took over after Scott and threw 4 innings, allowing 1 earned run with 3 K's. Timmy Heslin came in and closed the game giving up 1 hit and 0 runs. It looked like West Deptford may have had a chance to tie it up in the bottom of the 8th but Sal Cusumano made a diving catch in CF to secure the 7-6 win.  Nick Dziuba started the second game and threw a one-hitter threw 3 innings. Gus Gray led the Bombers  offense with 2 hits however West Deptford came out on top in game two.

Greg Albert is SUP
ER MAN

Greg Albert very well may be Super Man, we just don't know.... but rumor has it, he has hit 6 home runs in his last 6 games.   This is something that is of course not very common.   Greg now has 11 home runs on the season with still plenty of season left to add a lot more to that number.   His batting average is now sitting at .487 with 38 hits in 78 at bats.  He now leads the team in batting average, doubles, tied for triples, home runs, rbi's and on base percentage.   Um WOW.

On the weekend, the team 12-Blue went 2-1 again scoring 45 RUNS

The  12 Blue Bombers  defeated the GT Trojans Saturday 17-6 they put on a hitting show with 15 hits including 4 Home Runs by Greg Albert, Jarrett Wambold, Josh ( Mr. Dependable) Knapp and Liam Graham.  Another strong pitching performance by Josh Knapp who started the game.  Trey Crumpler got the win and Tim Schroeder got the save.

Ending the game 18-15 in the Bombers  favor.

In the 2nd game of the doubleheader vs. BYC Dynamite, the Bombers  went on the attack again with 4 home runs, a pair by Albert, Mike Christopher chipped in, and the new hitting sensation Jarrett Wambold (The Machine).   Wambold hit his 2nd home run of the weekend.  Bombers  fell to BYC 17-10 in their third game of the weekend as the offense finally ran out of runs. 12-U Red Team head to Manahawkin Sunday for Tournament Playoffs

The Bombers  12 U Red had a great Memorial Day Weekend Tournament going 2-1 advancing them in to the semi's on Monday, however heavy rains postponed the playoff rounds until Sunday June 5th in Waretown, NJ.  In the three games that were played, the Bombers  took on the South Jesrey Cyclones, the South Jersey  Bulldogs and the Hagerstown Hornets.  They took game one against the Cyclones by the score of 9-1 and they took game three against the Bulldogs 19-1.  The final to game two was Hornets 16 and the Bombers 5.

The Bombers offense was led by Jake Fernandez and Matt Boblenz with a couple big hits by a few others including a long home run by Travis Guaracino.  Guaracino also threw a gem on the hill in game one leaving the opponent to only one run.  It was some of the best baseball this team has played all season coach Dan Sasso said.  They were making a lot more plays in the field and playing smart baseball.  In addition, in game one Fernandez made a Willie Mays impossible catch in center field to stop the opponent from scoring any runs.

Prior to the tournament Fernandez was hitting .481 with two doubles and a home run and Boblenz was hitting .444 with four doubles.

Good Luck 12-U Red on Sunday!!!

12-U Bombers  players Travis Guaracino and Liam Graham both smash their first home runs of the season this past week.   Graham roped a laser line drive over the fence to give him his first bomb of the year.   He finished off 2 for 3 in the game with two rbi's.  The Bombers  went on to win 12-0 against the South jERSEY  Bull Dogs.  He continued to hit the ball well in the War in the Woods Tournament in Indian Mills, NJ this past Memorial Day Weekend.

On Sunday, Travis Guaracino hit a towering bomb that still has yet to land.  Astronauts are still searching for the ball as it may explode in orbit causing the earth to shift off it's axis.  The Bombers  12-U red played in Manahawkin where they went 2-1 in tournament play which advanced them to the semi finals on Monday.  However early Monday morning severe thunderstorms came through making several fields un-playable.  The 12-U semi finals have now got pushed back to the following weekend as they will still try to pull out a winner.

The final of game one was the JSB Blue 10 and the North Jersey  Expos 4.  Ryan Graham pitched a gem while throwing the entire six inning game.   The second game was an unlike-Bombers  performance where they fell to the Young Guns 11-5.  Walks and errors haunted the Bombers  for part of this game allowing many un-earned runs.

In Game three the Bombers  took on Gallagher Select.  This game was neck and neck until the 5th inning.  The score was 2-1 with Gallagher in the lead going in to the fifth until the Bombers  batted in the bottom of the inning scoring 7 runs making the score 8-2.  Somehow the final was 8-7 with the Bombers  taking the W.  Nate Liedtka pitched outstanding through five innings keeping the opponent to only 2 runs scored.   In the last inning there were a couple errors mixed in with a couple hits to help give the Gallagher Select one more last minute run but the Bombers  held on.  The Gallagher Select went on to win the tournament beating Medford in the finals.
