Fair Play Code for Players

• I am playing to have fun, to improve my skills and to make friends.
• I will treat all players, coaches, officials, sponsors, volunteers and executive fairly, honestly, and with dignity.
• I will adopt a ‘zero tolerance’ attitude toward verbal or physical abuse.
• I will learn the rules of ice hockey. This will help me to be a better player,appreciate the referee’s tasks on the ice and to better understand their decisions.
• I will applaud great efforts no matter who makes them.

Fair Play Code for Coaches

• I will remember that the players are playing to have fun and to learn the game. 
• I will ensure that all players receive equal instruction, encouragement, support, and ice time.
• I will treat all players, coaches, officials, sponsors, volunteers and executive fairly, honestly, and with dignity.
• I will encourage my players to respect the rules, and to be aware of the physical safety of themselves, their teammates and their opponents.
• I accept the responsibility to communicate openly and fairly with all members of the league (executive, coaches, players, referees, volunteers and committee members.)

Fair Play Code for Officials

• I will act in a professional and businesslike manner at all times and take my role seriously.
• I will keep things is perspective. 
• I understand that this is a women’s non-body contact, recreational hockey league. 
• I will show due diligence in calling unnecessary body contact.
• I will intervene quickly in any situation that threatens the safety of the players.
• I will not permit the intimidation of my peers, any player or myself either by word or by action.
• I will treat all players, coaches, officials, sponsors, volunteers and executive fairly, honestly, and with dignity.

Fair Play Code for Executive

• We will treat all players, coaches, officials, sponsors, volunteers and committee members fairly, honestly, and with dignity.
• We will advocate the core values of sportsmanship, respect for individuals, integrity, the pursuit of excellence, enjoyment, loyalty, and teamwork.
• We will distribute fair play codes to coaches, players, and officials at the start of the season.
• We will communicate to the players, volunteers, officials and coaches our expectations of their responsibilities within our league.
• We will do out best to support recommendations suggested by players and committees.
• We will acknowledge and appreciate all organizations and individuals who donate financial assistance and volunteer time to support our league.

Posts on the KWWRHL group Facebook page must fall under one of the following categories:

·         Questions and comments about the League

·         Reminders about League events

·         Discussion about League events

·         Discussion about women’s hockey

·         Links to websites and articles regarding women’s hockey

·         Links to websites and articles regarding hockey rules and tactics

·         Links to websites and articles regarding hockey player safety

·         Promotion of women’s hockey tournaments, games, clinics, and other events as long as those events are not being held during normal league game times (Monday and Saturday nights or on the same dates as other League events).  Tournaments must have a women’s-only division to be acceptable for listing on this page.

The League Executive will monitor the page and reserves the right to remove any post for any reason.  Examples of unacceptable posts include but are not limited to:

·         Complaints about the league, its players or officials (as these should be brought to a member of the executive)

·         Listing items for sale

·         Links to websites that are not related to women’s hockey, hockey rules, or player safety

·         Promotion of any events that are not specifically related to women’s hockey

·         Promotion of other hockey leagues that have a season running primarily within the months of  September through March.

·         Obscene, racist, homophobic, or other inappropriate language or images 

The League Executive has the responsibility and authority to admit or remove any members from the Facebook group.  Membership shall be limited to registered players, coaches, and league alumnae.  Any registered member of the league may face disciplinary action for violating any of the Facebook posting rules above, as stated in Article XIII of the Operations Manual: “The Executive Committee shall have the authority to reject, remove, suspend or discipline Players, Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Staff, Timekeepers, Scorekeepers or Referees for conduct prejudicial to the aims of the league.”
