CO-ED LEAGUE RULES

 

ALL RULES FOR THE LEAGUE SHALL BE AS PER SLO-PITCH ONTARIO RULE BOOK WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:

 

1.        FOR LIABILITY REASONS, LEAGUE CONVENOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISALLOW THE USE OF ANY EQUIPMENT THAT MAY BE CONSIDERED UNSAFE.

 

2. GAMES WILL BE 7 INNINGS OR 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES, THIS MEANS NO NEW INNING AFTER 1 HOUR AND 5 MINUTES.

 

3. MERCY RULE SHALL BE 12 RUNS AFTER 5 INNINGS.

 

4. 1 HOMERUN HITTER FOR MALE BATTERS PER GAME FOR KIN#1 AND OPTIMIST. FOR SAVAGE AND KIN#2 THE HOMERUN LIMIT WILL BE A MATCH PLUS 2. NO HOMERUN LIMIT FOR WOMEN. ANY MALE BATTED BALL HIT OFF THE MESH    WILL BE CONSIDERED A LIVE BALL UNLESS THE BALL FALLS DOWN BEHIND THE SCREEN AND GET'S CAUGHT UP WHICH WILL BE AWARDED 2 BASES. THE BATTED BALL MUST BE HIT OVER THE EXTENDED MESH FOR A HOMERUN. ANY FEMALE BATTED BALL THAT HITS OF THE MESH OR OVER THE EXTENDED MESH WILL BE CONSIDERED A HOMERUN.

 

5. ANY FOUL TIP CAUGHT IS AN OUT.

 

6. TIES STAND. INTERNATIONAL TIE BREAKER USED IN PLAY-OFFS

 

7. JEWELLERY IS ALLOWED WITH CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS AT UMPIRES DISCRETION(eg.giant loop earrings and long chains)

 

8. 4 COURTESY RUNNERS PER GAME. MALE FOR MALE, FEMALE FOR FEMALE. INJURED PLAYERS CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE LINEUP WITHOUT PENALTY. RUNNERS FROM THE SCREEN ARE ALLOWED.

 

     MUST BE ANNOUNCED BEFORE THE GAME. BUT IT MUST BE THE LAST OUT. DO NOT ABUSE THIS RULE. IF YOU CANNOT RUN THE BASES DON'T PLAY THE OUTFIELD.

 

9. MUST HAVE MINIMUM 9 PLAYERS TO PLAY. A MAXIMUM OF 5 MALES CAN BE FIELDED AT ONE TIME AND 4 MUST BE FEMALE.

 

10. ANY FORFEITS WILL RESULT IN A LOSS. MUST GIVE CONVENOR AT LEAST “24” HOURS NOTICE OF GAME CANCELLATION. IT WILL NOT BE RE-SCHEDULED

 

11. TEAMS MAY BAT ENTIRE ROSTER OR USE SUBSTITUTION AND RE-ENTRY. MUST BE MALE,FEMALE MALE,FEMALE,ETC.

 

12. ILLEGAL BAT LIST WILL BE DISTRIBUTED THE NIGHT OF YOUR FIRST GAME. IT WILL BE AT UMPIRES DISCRETION TO ENFORCE THIS RULE AND THE LEAGUE WILL NOT STAND FOR ANY ILLEGAL.

 

   EQUIPMENT BEING USED. ANYONE FOUND USING ILLEGAL EQUIPMENT WILL BE EJECTED FROM THE GAME AND THE FOLLOWING 3 GAMES THERE AFTER

13. UMPIRE ABUSE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. SUSPENSION AWARDED AFTER CONSULTATION BETWEEN UMPIRE AND LEAGUE OFFICIAL IF NECESSARY.

 

14. LEAGUE STANDINGS: 2 POINTS FOR A WIN. PLAY TO WIN. IN CASE OF TIES IN STANDINGS AT END OF THE YEAR, RUNS FOR/AGAINST WILL BE USED.

 

15. ROSTER'S MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE THE NIGHT OF YOUR FIFTH GAME. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PLAYOFFS, PLAYERS MUST PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST 4 GAMES. NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

   GAME SHEETS FROM BOTH TEAMS TO BE HANDED IN AFTER EVERY GAME. 31. IF ROSTERS ARE NOT SUBMITTED BY THE REQUIRED DATE, THE TEAM WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PLAYOFFS.

 

16. ANY PLAYER, COACH, OR PERSON DIRECTLY AFFILIATED WITH YOUR TEAM CAUGHT DRINKING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT ANY OF THE CITY PARKS DIAMONDS DURING LEAGUE PLAY WILL RESULT

 

       IN SUSPENSION OR DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR TEAM AND FULL FORFEITURE OF ANY CASH/PRIZES.

 

17. ANY WALK TO A MALE BATTER, THE BATTER IS AWARDED TWO BASES. THE FEMALE BATTER UP NEXT HAS THE OPTION TO HIT OR WALK.

 

18. OUTFIELDERS CANNOT THROW OUT ANYONE AT FIRST BASE.

 

19. PROTESTS ARE TO BE MADE TO LEAGUE CONVENOR WITHIN 24 HOURS ALONG WITH $150.00 CASH. NON-REFUNDABLE IF YOU LOSE PROTEST.

 

20. PITCHING WILL BE 6 TO 14 FEET FOR FEMALE BATTERS AND 6 TO UNLIMITED HEIGHT FOR MALE BATTERS

 

21. HOMERUN BALLS AND FOUL BALLS TO BE RETRIEVED BY THE TEAMS.

 

22. HOME TEAMS TO RETRIEVE THE BASES AT THE END OF THE NIGHT IF THEY ARE NOT THE MAG BASES.

 

23. 5 RUN LIMIT PER INNING, LAST INNING TO BE AN OPEN INNING.

 

24. THERE IS ANTICIPATION ALLOWED AS SOON AS THE BALL CROSSES THE PLATE.

 

25. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DIGGING OUT OF THE BATTERS BOX, IF YOU DO YOU WILL BE CALLED OUT.

 

26. ONLY BATS WITH THE NEW USSSA THUMB PRINT CERTIFIED BATS CAN BE USED. ANYONE CAUGHT USING ILLEGAL BATS WILL BE EJECTED.

 

27. TEAMS MAY USE ANYONE ON ANOTHER TEAMS ROSTER DURING THE SEASON, EXCEPT FOR THE PLAYOFFS. CAN ONLY PLAY WITH ONE TEAM DURING PLAY-OFFS NO MATTER WHAT DIVISION.

 

       EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE ONLY IF A TEAM REQUIRES 1 OR MORE MALE OR FEMALE PLAYERS TO MAKE 10 TO PLAY THE GAME. A DIVISION CAN PULL FROM B DIVISION AND B DIVISION CAN PULL FROM A DIVISION.

28. IF ROSTERS ARE NOT SUBMITTED BY THE REQUIRED DATE ON THE RULE SHEET, THE TEAM WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PLAYOFFS.

 

29. ANY PHYSICAL ALTERCATIONS WITH A TEAM MEMBER, OTHER ROSTERED PLAYER, UMPIRE, LEAGUE EXEC., OR FANS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISMISSED FROM THE LEAGUE.

 

30. THERE ARE 2 CHALKED LINES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PITCHING RUBBER,12 INCHES FROM EACH SIDE OF THE RUBBER.THIS ESSENTIALLY WILL GIVE THE PITCHER APPROX. 3 FEET

 

       OF PITCHING RUBBER.THIS WILL BE CALLED THE DESIGNATED PITCHER'S HOME. ANY PITCHER PITCHING OUTSIDE THIS ZONE THIS RULE DOES NOT APPLY. ANY MALE BATTER

 

        INTENTIONALLY HITTING THREW THIS ZONE WILL RESULT IN THE BATTER BEING CALLED OUT. THE HEIGHT OF THE BATTED BALL WILL ALWAYS BE AT THE UMPIRES DISCRETION. IF HE/SHE DEEMS

 

       THAT THE BATTED BALL COULD STRIKE THE PITCHER THAN THIS RULE WILL APPLY. THE BALL IS CONSIDERED A DEAD BALL ENTERING THIS ZONE, AND RUNNERS CANNOT ADVANCE.

 

31. NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED OUTSIDE THE FENCED AREA

 

32. CONVENOR HAS THE AUTHORITY TO RAISE OR LOWER ANY TEAM INTO ANY DIVISION AS THEY SEEM FIT.

 

33. SLIDING IS ALLOWED
