The $80 basic package for cheerleaders include the following: registration, mid-drift, spankies, socks and hair bow. Football girdles and cheerleading warm-ups are an additional fee.
How much does it cost to equip a player? The Avonworth Eagles strives to maintain equipment which will insure the safety of our players. Below is a breakdown of the cost of your child's football equipment. Helmet $75 Shoulder Pads $42 Knee Pads $6 Mouth Guards $1 Game Pants $40 Game Shirt $45 Chin Strap $7.95 Belt $1.50 In addition, all helmets are reconditioned and certified by Rydell. Approximate cost of reconditioning is $25 per helmet. What equipment is provided by Avonworth Eagles? Your child will receive a helmet, shoulder pads, knee pads, game pants and a game jersey, and practice pants. The parents will need to purchase for their child a girdle and football cleats. Girdles will be available to purchase during equipment handout for $25. For all new players a $7 charge will need to be paid for the players name plate for the back of the game football jersey. When are practices held and do I need to be at all the practices? All practices (football players and cheerleaders) take place on the Rt. 65 Ohio River Blvd. Field. Practices begin in July and run 5 nights a week (Monday through Friday) until school starts. Practice time is generally 6pm to 8pm during this time. Once school begins, practice is from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. Attendance is mandatory for all practices. When players miss practice it can effect the whole team. This is at least a three month commitment. Any missed practices should be discussed with the Head Coach. The actual start dates for games will be determined by the Tri-State Youth Football League. The 2009 Season Opener is the last week in August. When is registration? Football player and cheerleader registration will be held every Sunday in the month of April, May and the last day for registration will be posted on the internet. There will be no registration on Easter and Mother's Day. Registration will be from 1pm to 2:30pm at the Rt. 65 Ohio River Blvd. (Lance Corporal Patrick Kenny Memorial field). Sign up early to reserve your childs football number. Cheerleaders will be getting new uniforms for 2009. When is equipment hand-out? Equipment hand-out will be in late July. You will receive email notification and details will be posted on the web site. Do I have to work the concession stand? The concession stand is a tremendous asset to the organziation. Every parent should volunteer a few shifts during the season. Some volunteers will be needed during regular practice and others will be on game day. When volunteering your time at the concession stand usually it will be the game before or after your child's game. It is important that we get to see our children play and perform. With only 3 games please stay and help out the organization. How can I volunteer? There are many opportunities for people to volunteer their time. We are looking for people to help in the consession stand, announce games, work the sticks, maintain equipment, maintain the field, selling advertising for the program ad and a bunch of other things. If you have a talent or skill we can probably put it to good use. Sign-up sheets will be distributed during equipment handout and will also be available at the concession stand during practice.
