I would like to extend a huge "Thank You" to all of our coaches on behalf of all of our players, parents and myself. These guys put in a huge amount of time and effort toward the development of our girls and it truly shows. We are fortunate to have such a talented staff with the extended amount of knowledge they bring. It's because of dedicated coaches like these that our young athletes will be able to reach their full potential.

Coach Shawn founded AXE Sports Association, Inc. in May of 2004.
Coach Shawn began coaching in Allen's recreational program in 2000. Since the beginning, AXE Fastpitch Softball Club's goals have always been to provide our girls with the proper fundamentals and techniques to prepare them for high school and beyond. We do this through repetitive station drills, situational practice and conditioning. As you will see below, we have an awesome coaching staff that is 100% committed to these girls and their development into great softball players.
The 92 AXE (Gallimore) team was formed in May of 2004. This team has played in 50 tournaments and has 25 "Top Five" Finishes including 4-1st place, 4-2nd place, 10-3rd place, 2-4th place & 6-5th place. Through December of 2008 the team's overall record stands at 226-156-13.

Coach John Brochu joined the organization in March of 2005. He is a "has-been" Division 1 collegiate athlete whose love turned to softball and other women's sports when the good Lord blessed him with 3 girls!
John has been coaching softball year round in Allen for many years. He has been a great addition to our coaching staff.

Coach Rodney played college baseball for Grayson College and has coached youth sports for the last 7 years, garnering 2 City of McKinney Championships in 6th grade boy's football and 2 city championships in boy's basketball. He has also coached boys select baseball while he patiently awaited his daughter to come of age. Together, they became members of the AXE Organization. Rodney and wife, Kelly live in McKinney with their children; son Dylan and daughter Delaney.

Coach Diane Phillips

We would like to formally introduce Coach Diane Phillips. Coach Diane has been helping out our 95 team at practice for a while now. She is originally from Tennessee (as is Coach Lewis) and came to Dallas via South Carolina due to her job with Deloitte Tax LLP. Diane coached youth softball in Clarksville National for 13 years and each year coached the All-Star team taking them to Districts and even the World Series one year. She also coached varsity softball at Ben Lippen High School in Columbia, South Carolina. In addition to coaching youth softball, Diane has completed two mission trips, one with Athletes in Action to India and a second to Mozambique.
Diane has two daughters, Heather who is married and lives in Old Hickory, TN and Mary Helen who is married and lives in Tallahassee, Florida.
We are glad to have Diane as part of the 95 AXE coaching staff. She brings a wealth of coaching experience and knowledge and has been a tremendous help to Coach Cheri and Coach Lewis.

I am excited about the opportunity to take this 99 team and help them to continue to grow, develop and improve their skills as softball players, but also learn something about team work and life along the way. I was an assistant on this team when they first started and have been involved from a distance so I know the girls and their parents well. With the players on this team and the work that myself, and John along with the other coaches will put in I expect great things in the future from this AXE 99 team.
I have coached youth sports including baseball, basketball, football, and softball thru ASA in Allen every year since 1996. My father was my youth coach in various sports all the way up until I graduated from high school and we had great times together. I have tried to do the same thing for my kids. I really enjoy the time outside with the girls and trying to help them develop to succeed in sports and life.
We will work hard, and play hard but we will have also good times together and most of all we will certainly have fun!

I have a long time love of sports and competition playing
both basketball and baseball in High School.
I started coaching youth sports 6 years ago and have been involved in coaching baseball, soccer and softball for the past 4 seasons. Having 3 girls has provided the catalyst to really begin to focus on softball. I am excited about working with and developing a team of girls that will be known for their character and integrity as well as their solid play. We hope to create a very high class competitive environment that allows the girls to be very competitive and while maintaining the importance of family.
