Blue Springs Baseball (BSB)
Blue Springs Baseball, (formerly known as Blue Springs Little League Baseball, Inc.), is a 501c(3), non-profit organization that has been providing a quality baseball program for the youth of Blue Springs for several years.
The organization consists of many volunteers that strive continuously, enhancing a program with over 45 years of heritage.
Thanks to the gracious efforts of American Legion Stanley Pack Post 499, our organization has built a beautiful baseball complex just east of Blue Springs, on the American Legion Property. This work was done with hard effort of league members, players, parents and businesses over the past several years. This complex consist of five game fields, which are lighted, asphalt walkways, concession and restroom facilities, and large gravel parking lots. In recent years, the league has bought new field maintenance equipment, installed retaining walls to improve seating, picnic tables, and a PA system.
The fees we collect from players, fundraisers or tournaments that the league may sponsor solely fund our program. The City of Blue Springs provides part of the fields that the league use, but they do not provide any financial support. Our league must bear the cost of lighting the city and complex fields, mowing, and maintaining the fields of our complex.
Our league is limited to children ranging from 5 years old to 17 years old. The league requires that all league players reside in the Blue Springs School District, Eastern Jackson County or the family be affiliated with the American Legion Stanley Pack Post 499. The league does open its tournaments to teams throughout the Midwest and its Fall Baseball program to area teams.
We are constantly trying to improve our programs, from field and facility maintenance, to umpires. We will continue to provide one of the best baseball programs for our local youth, and encourage local residents to give us suggestions on ways we may improve.
