As you may or may not know, "B" Division All-Star programs differ from "A" ball in many ways. Classically "A" level softball teams play year-round and provide today's one-sport athlete with an avenue to develop their skills non-stop. The focus is on competitiveness and winning and travel can be extensive and expensive. Playing time is significantly reduced for all but the core level players. Although "A" teams can develop into "super-teams" and provide exceptional attention to positional player development, the proliferation of these independent teams have served to dilute many local area programs. Some "A" teams are now even setting up "developmental" second teams.
"B" Division All-Star programs are historically aligned with recreational programs and allow for the development of competitive All-Star softball programs within a window of time that runs typcially from May through July. The "B" teams developed by the Clovis Bullets focus on player development, competitiveness and FUN! Yes, we said it - FUN!
It is important to note that "B" division All Star programs are indeed high level All-Star programs and try-outs are required. "B" level teams simply allow more flexibility for players and their families and truly provide a "field of dreams" for those developing players to want to take their game to the next level.
