     Coach's Corner Guestbook

When coaching a base while you are in the lineup for a game, never ask to have a player run your glove out to you prior to the inning starting. Always assume you will be back to the dugout to hit. This positive mind set is just one example.

    Wash Your Uniform
May 10, 2009  --   Remember to was your uniform so that it is ready to go on game day. Old uniforms that have been stuffed in a bag in your garage may give you a rash if you dont clean them properly. It's also a good idea to oil your glove and maybe put some new liners in your spikes. A little common courtesy goes a long way in the dugout.

Coach comes out on Top at local Ashland Tennis Tourney
August 4, 2008  --   Coach Steve Schraufnagel not only can hang with the best of them in the batters box, he can also swing a pretty mean tennis racket. Coach took first place in both men's and mixed doubles over the weekend. The grueling two day tournament hardly put a chinc in the armor because to top it off he went down to Exeland to play some ball on Sunday. When asked if he was playing against some younger, stronger, quicker competition coach just smiled. "Well it was open division, but I serve from all over the baseline. I come from angles these young guns have not seen. Plus it's my home turf, no one beats me on my home turf." Coach went on to preach conditioning "I used to play 4 or 5 sports per day when I was your age" Now I limit myself to 3, baseball, golf, and tennis. If anyone was wondering what coach has in the bag at the golf course you will not find many irons. Coach carries an assortment of woods, all the way up to a 15 wood, although he admits to using J.O.'s 8 iron from time to time, he still is under the alloted limit of 14 clubs. Another clever part to his game is he will putt anywhere inside 100 yards.

Congrats Coach, maybe next year we can add a baseball trophy or two to your trophy case.

    Eat more fruit.
August 3, 2008  --   A good way to get your daily water intake is to eat more fruit. Fruit contains a lot of water and also some healthy nutrients for you too. So remember to get your daily servings of fruit and at the same time you will stay hydrated.

    News From Coach
April 4, 2006  --   In an effort to get the word out from Coach Schraufnagel we have installed his very own page on the website. This way he can say whatever he needs to say to the team.

In the first installment I will just do the relaying to the rest of the team. Looks like he wants everyone to get out and get in tip top shape. He is in the best shape of his life and doesn't expect anything different from anyone else.

There should be a finalization of the C&S schedule very soon. We are going to be playing about 15 league games this year with some extra non-conference games also. Don't forget about the end of the year tournaments. Also practice schedules will be figured out once the season schedule is final. That doesn't mean that you can't practice on your own.

Looks like the new jerseys are a no go this year. Coach figures there will be more costs this year for umpires and field preparation. He did say that if anyone is still interested in new jerseys we should start this season. Someone can collect the money this season and put it into an account. Then we can order in December or January for next year. Again, I am personably diggin' the red jerseys.

Lastly, we need everyone to email us at csbaseball@gmail.com. We need an update of everyones current email address, phone number, and home address. This way Coach can get schedules out to everyone.

Well that's it for now but always....always....remember to choke up!!
