The Central Valley Falcons defeated the Yreka Miners 6-0 on Tuesday Night to grab the 2009 CIF Section Championship. After their 34th game, the Falcons ended their 2009 season 32-2. The victory comes with much anticipation as the Falcons have never won a CIF Championship in the program's 55 year history. Central Valley has played in 3 Section Finals (2001, 2002, 2003) previously under Head Coach Bob Anderson, however they suffered defeats in each of those games.
The team has worked diligently throughout the 2008-2009 year winning 32 games and losing only 2. They're the first team in Northern Section History to win 30 games and finished the with the MOST WINS IN CALIFORNIA! In addition, the FALCONS 32 wins ranked them 5th in the NATION! The program would like to thank all of its 2009 supporters and wishes it's graduating seniors congratulations, good luck, and fond farewell.
