RETIRED NUMBERS
The Diamondbacks have had a lot of great players come and go since being established in 1997.
In order to be eligible for the Diamondback Hall Of Fame, a player has had to play five years with team to be eligible.
Below are the players elected to the Hall Of Fame. Their jersey numbers will not be used ever again.
SAM TRUEBLOOD #7 - 3B
Sam "Bull" Trueblood was a solid hot box infielder during the start up years of the team. After the 2001 season, he thought it was time for him to bid baseball farewell. For some insane reason, he felt a calling to run marathons as his new source of inspiration. He calls it inspiration, Steinbrenner calls it lack of Shiner Bock.
His nickname of "Bull" is for very good reason. He had a feisty attitude and expected the rest of the team to follow suit.
LOUIS PATTON #35 - OF
Louis "BIG LOU" Patton was Steinbrenner's model player. Never gave him any grief, very reliable, and provided alot of punch at the plate.
During the first few years of the organization, he even provided some skill on the mound. Louis is one of the most down to earth people you will ever meet. Always a pleasure to be around. His time with the Diamondbacks was cut short due to shoulder injury and family commitments.
