What is the goal of the Kaneland Youth Football and Cheerleading League?
(1) To familiarize players withe basic fundamentals of football/cheerleading and to provide the opportunity for our youth to participate in an organized and supervised envionment. Impahsis is not on winning, but good sportsmanship, fair play, and discipline.
(2) To instill in our youth the values associated with team sports and give children the chance to be a part of a team, make nw firends, and have fun while participating in an activity which encourages teamwork respect for others, and fair play.

What are the registration fees and what do they cover?
Flag Football registartion fee $50.00
Tackle Football registration fee $200.00
Cheer registration fee $150.00
A $25.00 volunteer fee will be added on the registration fee. Once two hours of volunteer service is met your $25.00 will be refunded.
KYFL is a program supported primarily by parent fees and sponsorships. The fees cover uniforms, participation awards, safety gear, and field/equipment maintenance and repair.

What do I need to register my child?
(1) Sports Physical prior to first day of practice.
(2) Copy of participants birth certificate.

What are the age groups offered?
Flag: 5 - 6
Tackle Football: Flyweight 7 - 8 (up to 100 lbs.); Lightweight 9 - 10 (up to 125 lbs.); Heaveyweight 11 - 12 (up to 165 lbs.)
Cheer: Divided by age group (6,7,8); (9-10); (11-12)

What equipment do I need to purchase?
Flag: Mouth Guard and Cleats
Tackle Football: Athletic Cup and Cleats
Cheer: Items will be determined by your coach (shoes, socks,hairbow, briefs, bodyliner)

When, where, and who do we play games against?
We are affiliated with the Northern Illinois Football Conference - which encompasses Sycamore Youth Football Leauge, Central Youth Football League (Burlington), Genoa/Kingston Youth Football League, and the Belvidere area. Games are played on Saturday mornings at various locating within the NIFC League. The game schedule will be available in July.

When, where, and how many practices are held?
The practice schedule will be determined by the end of June. The KYFL practice field is located in Elburn at Lions Park.

When does the season begin?
Practice will begin the last week in July
Games start the week before Labor Day

What required equipment will Kaneland Youth Football League supply?
The equipment is the porperty of Kaneland Youth Football League and is required to be returned to the organization either at the end of the season or upon the player leaving the league prior to the end of the season. Once a player acquires the equipment, it is their responsibility to maintain and care for the equipment. Equipment not returned, or returned damaged will be the financial responsibility of the player's sponsor or guardian. Failbure to meet this responsibility will result in the player being inelgible for KYFL events and activities util the obligation is met.
