Our Mission Statement
The Mission of Mountain West Crush Softball Club is to develop each individual girl's skills and abilities in the areas of fast pitch softball, citizenship, sportsmanship and interpersonal relationships, within a team structure. We are interested in girls that are serious about the game of softball and have the goals, dreams and aspirations of moving on to athletics at the collegiate level.
Mountain West Crush “We Believe”
• We believe that it is important to care about each other as teammates, coaches, and community.
• We believe in the importance of citizenship and expect that Mountain West girls act as excellent citizens of our communities, state and nation.
• We believe in good sportsmanship as players, coaches and parents.
• We believe in being a solid role model for younger players.
• We believe in and support the individual goals, aspirations, and dreams of each person.
• We believe in presenting a positive attitude at all times.
• We believe that by being positive and through encouragement and hard work, we will lift each and every team member up and motivate them to strive for excellence in every area of their individual lives.
Mountain West Crush Philosophies
• The total development of the individual player at two or more positions. Players who only learn to play one position limit themselves and can stunt their own growth as an athlete.
• All of the members are part of the team - Every player will play and every player will take their turn sitting out as a substitute. There is no "main or best 9".
• We will hold organized practices to become a better player and team.
• Coaches will teach solid fundamentals in each aspect of the game of softball, including batting, fielding, base running, and specific skills for each defensive position.
• Pitchers will be instructed in the art of throwing a variety of pitches that will allow them to grow as a pitcher. They will be given the opportunity in game situations to use their pitches and work through difficult situations.
• We will teach rotational hitting, along with slap hitting, bunting, and drag bunt. At the batter’s plate our philosophy is simply “See the ball, hit the ball”.
• Coaches will develop the confidence and enthusiasm of each player.
• We will teach the strategies of the game of softball.
• All players must maintain a certain level of conditioning to compete at a higher level.
• Whether 15 runs down or 15 runs up, Mountain West girls will play with the same great enthusiasm and attitude.
• We will treat all teams, players, coaches, and parents with respect and dignity.
If you believe that you meet these qualifications and would like to be a part of this organization,
contact one of the MWC board members or coaches.
