PYFC is the largest youth football and cheer program in Pembroke -  280 Pembroke children will take the field for the 2009 season!

We Play in the Old Colony YOUTH Football League

OLD COLONY YOUTH FOOTBALL IS THE OLDEST YOUTH FOOTBALL AND CHEERLEADLING ORGANIZATION IN THE TOWN OF PEMBROKE. RICH IN TRADITION DATING BACK TO OUR DAYS AS A PART OF SILVER LAKE YOUTH FOOTBALL SINCE 1974.
....THE TRADITION CONTINUES!

Teamwork, Commitment, Dedication, Respect

PYFC is dedicated to teach your player a variety of lessons and those are tops on our list. We are not here to parent any child but with these tools your player can learn and have fun with the sport of football. Our coaching staff is first and foremost about the children and the town of Pembroke. We all love the game of football and enjoy watching your children learn and have fun.

Age Appropriate:

PYFC and the OCYFL follow strict weight guidelines but also keep our players within strict birth guidelines as well. We will not be a part of any structure that allows the opportunity for a 6th grader to play football against a 3rd grader. This practice takes place in the local Pop Warner league under the "older lighter rule". No child attempting to have fun playing football should be subjected to a three to four year maturity gap because their of their weight.

Weight Appropriate:

Not only do we have age in mind but we also have weight requirements enforced through the OCYFL. Each child is weighed in at every game.

Minimum Play Rule:

PYFC has always had a mandatory minimum play rule. In 2008, this was expanded to 8 plays, regardless of age or level of play.

JV Program:

OCYFL and PYFC have a Junior Varsity program.  Each level of play has a Varsity team and JV team. In a perfect world we can all pretend that each player is a "varsity" caliber player, but in fact, that is not true, and only leads to less playing time and injuries. We are gearing our players for many things and one of them is high school. In high school, not everyone is a varsity player. The program allows first year players, along with reserved children, to compete against the same level of play at a less intense level.

Mite Level:
7yr old and or 2nd grade will play on one team and face towns in the south shore with the same exact age group!!
3rd graders will play JV and ability may dictate a 3rd grader moving up to the Varsity level.
                    4th graders will play Varsity.

PeeWee Level:
5th graders will play JV and ability may dictate a 5th grader moving up to the Varsity level.
                    6th graders will play Varsity.

Midget level:
7th graders will play JV and ability may dictate a 7th grader moving up to the Varsity level.
                    8th graders will play Varsity.
