NCAA League certification - 2009
Princeton Recreation Department has withdrawn its application for NCAA League Certification for the Mens Summer Basketball League for the summer of 2009.
The NCAA has added new insurance requirements that make it impossible for us to comply. The requirements state that we must provide injury coverage for all participants in case of injury while playing. The NCAA is also requiring all staff member to go through a full criminal background check. My staff has nothing to hide!!....but we are not going to do this. It is highly unnecessary.
Because we have withdrawn our application, currently enrolled Division-1 players are NOT allowed to participate. While opting to operate without NCAA League Certification is not what we would like to do, we refuse to comply with the ridiculous requirements of the NCAA.
