We made it!!!
Cars are unloaded, dinner is done, and the dads have taken the girls to Dairy Queen for dessert. The moms on the other hand are sitting on the deck relaxing for a minute! So far so good, no issues to report. More tomorrow... good night!

Hello! Better late than never... It’s Monday evening and I finally have time to report in… the girls are off to do Dune Climbing at Jockey’s Ridge.
Yesterday started out great… Off to the field at 9am for training, back a noon for lunch. Jenna’s folks visited us in the morning which was nice; they were able to watch the training and see the house where we are staying. After lunch, off to the beach for a couple of hours and then 4pm training on the beach. The girls went off for a run to the pier and back and then had a training session in the sand.
While all that was going on… the cook and kitchen crew were wrestling with a bigger problem! With the London Boil, fish, and shrimp marinated and ready to grill – the Grill-Meister tries to fire up the grill only to find out that it is dead – truly dead as in rusted out. So what to do – 17 starving girls and no grill! Yikes!! So the London Broil and shrimp ended up in the over and the fish went on a little Weber that we found down stairs and 2 extra hours later… dinner was served.

Monday morning started off with a hit – Mickey Mouse waffles for all, compliments of Chef Linda! Then off to the field at 9am. After Tacos at noon, the crew was off to the beach for a little R&R. Then back to the field at 3:30 for a second session. While all this was going on, the realty company delivered a much larger, brand new grill!! YES! So Nick put it to good use grilling delicious chicken tonight!
A special treat after dinner – Happy Birthday Amanda! Cupcakes for all and candles that were very difficult to blow out complaints of the Omni! Tomorrow is another day – everyone is sleeping well, the weather has been great, and I think the girls are really learning a lot. Fernando is very pleased with the way things are going!
More tomorrow, take care.

Wednesday - August 19th
A great first game for the 2009-2020 Omni team - with a 6 - 2 victory over the U17/U18 OBX Storm! With goals by "veteran" Brooke Daniels and "newbies" Jenna Lamb, Morgan Morris, and Ellie Evans, the Omni played an impressive game!

Another year of Camp Fernando comes to an end! I think this was the best year so far - a lot more relaxed for players and chaperones. It's pretty much a science now. Even Hurricane Bill couldn't stop the Omni - it is a beautiful, sunny day here! Red flags are up though so the girls are mainly laying out and trying to get rid of their sock/shorts tan lines. A cookout tonight and then packing up the cars for our early morning trip to VA Beach and the Sun Cup!! Good Luck to Omni!!!
