Director, Jessica Wilson

Mrs. Wilson graduated from Temple High School in 2005.  She was on the Junior Varsity Kittens Dance Team for 1 year and then on the Varsity Kittens Dance Team for 3 years.  During this time she served as a Junior Lieutenant and 1st Lieutenant.  Mrs. Wilson studied Exercise Sports Science at University of Mary Hardin Baylor where she was on the Sader Belles Dance Team.  She then transferred to Texas State University where she was a member of the Orchesis Modern Dance Company and was a Choreographers Showcase Performer for 3 years.  She was on the Dean's List all three years, was a member of the National College Honor Society, Alpha Chi and was also a member of the International Honor Society for Teachers, Kappa Delta Pi. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance in 2011.  She is certified in the State of Texas to teach Dance grades 8-12 and Physical Education grades K-12.  She taught private dance lessons at The Pointe in San Marcos, Texas.  She has choreographed numerous award winning solos and team routines to include Miller Middle School, Elkins High School, Terry High School and Steele High School.  She is in her eigth year as a staff member for American Dance and Drill Team.  She is also a member of the Texas Dance Educators Association and continues to judge team and officer tryouts around Texas.  Mrs. Wilson is in her sixth year as the director of the BF Terry Rangerettes and Dance I-IV teacher.  She is happily married to her husband Christopher and has three dogs, Bailey, Rosie and Daisy and two cats Lily and Chico.

 

Assistant Director, Teresa Sturm

Mrs. Sturm graduated from Langham Creek High School where she was a member of the National Award Winning Bailadoras Drill Team.  After high school, she began teaching competition dance at Cypress Academy of Dance and Dance Magic Productions, and recreational dance at Carol Ehler Dance School. In 2009, Mrs. Sturm graduated with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Victoria. Mrs. Sturm then went on to create and direct the Smith Starlettes Dance Team at Smith Middle School in Cy-Fair ISD where she received recognition from the Superintendent, Dr. Mark Henry, for her leadership and dedication to students. She also received Club Sponsor of the Year in 2009-2010. Mrs. Sturm continued with the Starlettes through 2012 at which time she also served as the Social Board Director for the Cypress Ranch Classics Drill Team. In 2012, Mrs. Sturm returned back to her high school to be the Assistant Director for her alumni team, The Bailadoras. Mrs. Sturm has also served as a judge for Miss Drill Team Texas and is a member of TDEA where she has served on the Allstate Dance Committee and Scholarship Committee. Additionally, she continues to judge team and officer tryouts around Texas.  Mrs. Sturm holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas @ Arlington and has principal certification with the State of Texas. In addition to being the Assistant Drill Team Director, Mrs. Sturm teaches dance at George Junior High and ESL at BF Terry High School. She is happily married to her husband Arnold, and they have three children.  Mrs. Sturm is looking forward to another wonderful year with the BF Terry Rangerettes!
