The 4th grade will also participate in the Nassau County PAL League. The boys play each Sunday in the spring against other towns in Nassau County. Approximately half the eight games will be at Home at St. Paul’s, and half will be at the town of the opponent such as Manhasset, Cold Spring Harbor, Massapequa and Wantagh, etc. There will be practice one or two days a week.
For those that were selected for one of the two select teams, a competitive Saturday afternoon schedule will be offered in the spring and during the summer the two skill based teams will participate in three tournaments and two round robins. Past tournaments have included the Jay Gallagher Memorial and the Jimmy McGrath Memorial tournaments that were both hosted at St. Paul’s in Garden City as well as the Hershey Shootout down in Hershey Pennsylvania.
NOTE: 4th graders interested in the competitive committed team program for the winter training, spring 2017 (5th grade) and summer 2017, should be prepared for try outs following the season in mid-July.
The evaluators for the try outs will be asked to select players with the complementary skill sets required to form a competitive team in all aspects of the game.
