Who: Total Baseball Development & the Iowa Great Lakes "Okobojis" American Legion Baseball Team from Milford Post #384
What: FUN - Wiffle Ball Tournament OUTDOORS in the middle of the winter for Boys and Girls from 4nd grade to 12th grade
When: Saturday, January 29 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Where: Wildcat Stadium in Arnolds Park, Iowa
AKA: Polar Bears Wear White Wiffle Ball Challenge (PBWWWBC)
How: Easy enough - Get your crew of FIVE PLAYERS together and sign up by clicking on the link above and complete the registration and payment in FIVE MINUTES!  Only $75 per team and that includes t-shirts to all players, prizes to the winners, and fun for all!!!
 
PARTICULARS:
  • 5 players to a team.  5 players on the field at the same time.  You can have a 6th player on your team, and all players will hit in the lineup. Boys and girls alike can play and mixed teams are accepted and encourage - Bring your best STARS!!!
  • Bats and balls will be provided.
  • No baseball gloves.
  • No spikes.
  • 20 minute games - 5 minute break in between games - Minimum 5 games
  • Individual Player Awards will be given
  • Champions in each grade divisions will get hardware!
  • Each player receives a 2022 Wiffle Ball Tournament t-shirt to mark your awesome participation and that will be ordered Monday January 31, and deliverd in early February
 
Teams are to be made up of Grade Divisions of:
  • 4th-5th
  • 6th-7th
  • 8th-9th
  • 10th, 11th, and 12th
  • *Players may 'Play Up' in age divisions
  • ADULTS!  And YES, the OPEN division of any ballers out of high school (Division Scheve)

DIRECTIONS:
The beautiful and historic Wildcat Stadium in Arnolds Park, Iowa is the former high school field for the Arnolds Park Wildcats and is one of the nicest in all of the land.  This park is located right adjacent to Highway 71 behind La Barca Mexican Restaurant (the old Mrs. Ladys) with the physical address of the field location being: 74 Bascom Street; Arnolds Park, Iowa  51331

Total Baseball Development will be hosting three awesome events in Okoboji in January of 2021 that are being sponsored by the Pearson Lakes Art Center and by The Hutt Bar & Grill.  Here is the schedule of events for Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30.  Come!  Dress warm!  Have Fun!

EVENT: Virtual American Legion Baseball Online Meet & Greet with Total Baseball Development at the Milford, Iowa American Legion Post #384.  Tune into Facebook live to listen and discuss the upcoming season for the brand new Iowa Great Lakes 'Okobojis' American Legion team and talk with team General Manager Bob Protexter and his guests Bill Krejci, retired college baseball coach who has worked with Team USA and USA Baseball for 25 years and Zach Graesfer of Major League Baseball International.  Kirby Walters, Commander of Post #384 will officiate!  See you ONLINE!

EVENT: "Hot Stove Baseball Round Table"
A Baseball Conversation with National and International Baseball personalities
Location and Sponsored by: Pearson Lakes Art Center - Lauridsen Performing Arts Theatre - Okoboji, Iowa
Cost: FREE....We will pass the hat old school style while maintaining distance 2021 style.
Masks encouraged.
Signup: No Pre-registration necessary - This beautiful theatre hosts 300 seats and for this 2021 event, seating will be limited to first 60 visitors so first come first serve for seats!
More information: This special summer in January baseball event at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji, Iowa will be a two hour "Hot Stove Baseball Round Table" and will be a baseball conversation of all topics with the following speakers telling stories and showing photos and videos of their world baseball travels in travelogue series style on the full-size movie screen Lauridsen Performing Arts Theatre.
 
  • Bill Krejci - Chicago native and retired Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director at Southwestern Community College has been traveling the world with Team USA of all ages in international competitions since 1996, and has coached the likes of Major League baseball players Joe Mauer, JJ Hardy, Freddie Freeman, Manny Machado, and Bryce Harper.
  • Zach Graesfer - St. Louis native has a Bachelors and a Masters degrees in Sport Management from Missouri Baptist University and has been traveling the world for Major League Baseball for over a decade all throughout Europe doing with international initiatives doing coaching clinics, showcases, and also bringing World All-Star teams of young professional prospects on barnstorming tours of America in showcase opportunities for MLB clubs.
  • Brandon Edmonds - Owner of Spencer Sports Cards & Comics has been a collector for life.  The Spencer, Iowa native's store is located right in the center of town at 313 Grand Avenue and has on display for sale baseball, basketball, and football cards as well as game day programs and sports figurines.  The store also has comic books and collector cards and souvenir items from Star Wars.  He has traveled the United States with his collection and his store is a big city store on Grand Avenue in Spencer.
  • Meghan Flynn - Hartley, Iowa native holds a 2011 Degree in Fine Arts from Iowa State University and a 2013 Masters in Find Art from Washington State University.  Flynn has an extensive collection of personally created pieces of fine art, highlighted by "My Life and Baseball".  As a lifelong collector of baseball cards, this portfolio was created in 2013 and is a collection of actual baseball card sized pieces hand painted art that includes a 1963 Sandy Koufax, a 1964 Roger Maris, and a 1965 Harmon Killebrew.
  • Bob Protexter - Sioux City, Iowa native will introduce the speakers.  He is the Executive Director of Total Baseball Development. Protexter has been involved with Russian baseball for over 30 years and has lived in Moscow for eight of those years.  He first traveled to Russia in 1990 to coach baseball for the Moscow Red Devils.  Protexter went on to work for both the Los Angeles Angles and Seattle Mariners.  As well he has been involved in Major League Baseball International initiatives and has operated programs for USA Baseball in Iowa and Nebraska. Outside of baseball he has worked at two Winter Olympic Games for the Russian Olympic Committee.  Locally, he coached at Morningside College for eight years and founded Total Baseball Development in 2004. Now here in 2021 he will be the General Manager of the newly created American Legion baseball team at the Iowa Great Lakes to be known as the 'Okobojis'.

Youth and All Ages Tournament - Boys and Girls from 2nd grade to 12th grade, and an adult Division for ballers older the high school.  See Grade Divisions and all divisions below.

DEADLINE - MIDNIGHT ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2021
 
 
  • 5 players to a team.  5 players on the field at the same time.  You can have a 6th player on your team, and all players will hit in the lineup.
  • Bats and balls will be provided.

Face masks or coverings will be strongly encouraged at all events and social distancing guidelines will be put in place. The number of attendees will be limited at various events.
