Background Checks...
All Twin County coaches submit to an extensive background check through New Jersey Youth Soccer and some, additionally, through US Club soccer in order to protect our children.
Concussion Certifications & Injury Prevention...
All Twin County coaches have taken and passed a Concussion & Treatment Protocol Awareness course. Our US Club sanctioned teams have, in addition, completed the Sideline Docs Injury Treatment & Awareness. Injury prevention, recovery and concussion awareness are a concern for parent, player and coach.
Concussion Information:
All coaches are required by the state to take a 15 minute online concussion awareness course. Everyone can complete and receive the concussion training certification here. This is a requirement for all trainers and coaches in New Jersey, by an act of the state legislature. The certification involves watching a short video, answering a few questions and printing out your certificate to submit to your club registrar and have with you at ALL GAMES.
The 2nd International Conference on Concussion in Sport created a “SCAT (Sport Concussion Assessment Tool) Card” for evaluating athletes with concussions. This extremely useful card summarizes all the important information about concussions for easy sideline evaluation and treatment. Download the SCAT here.
