Austin Reserve Application
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR AUSTIN RESERVE POLICE OFFICER EMPLOYMENT
The Austin Police Reserve Program is a unique opportunity for you to serve the people of the City of Austin. It requires extraordinary dedication on the part of the Reserve Officers in order to meet the standards required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must meet the following requirements and provide the requested material for their application to be processed.
1. Be twenty one (21) years of age.
2. Must be a United States Citizen
3. Possess a valid drivers license and provide a copy of such with application.
4. Include a copy of their Birth Certificate with their application.
5. Be a High School graduate or have a GED certificate. Include a copy of such with the application along with a copy of any college credits of degree(s).
6. Shall have no felony conviction or a conviction of Domestic Battery.
7. Pass a drug screening test.
8. Successfully pass each phase of the selection process involved in.
9. Pass a physical and psychological test.
10.Pass Oral interview with Director of Public Safety and Board of Public Safety.
PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST; ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This assessment consist of a series of test to measure an applicant's strength, stamina, and physical ability in performing various Police related activities There will be no grades or points assigned for completion of the individual tests. Each test is either pass or fail and the applicant is required to complete all tests in this phase of the process.

Vertical Jump........................ 13.5 Inches
One Minute Sit-ups................ 24
300 Meter Run....................... 82 Seconds
Minimum Push-ups............... 21
1.5 Mile Run........................... 18 Minutes 56 Seconds
ILEA Exit Standards
Vertical Jump............................ 16 Inches
One Minute Sit-ups................... 29
300 Meter Run...........................71 Seconds
Minimum Push-ups.................. 25
1.5 Mile Run .............................16 Minutes 28 Seconds
NOTE: No applicant's heart rate or blood pressure will be monitored by the provider of this test.
NOTE: SHOULD THE APPLICANTS HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THEIR ABILITY TO SAFELY PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROCESS, THEY SHOULD CONSULT WITH THEIR PHYSICIAN PRIOR TO THE TESTING DATE.
