Coaching policy
BELMONT PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT
Policy on Belmont Parks & Recreation Dept.
Youth Coaching
1. The coach of any team has first priority for coaching the same team, in the same age division, in the same sport, for the next season. The coach must notify the recreation dept. within a reasonable time of their intent to coach.
2. If the coach from the previous year declines the coaching position, then a coach from another team within the Belmont Parks & Recreation Dept. will have the opportunity to coach that team.
3. If more than one coach shows interest in the position, then it will be at the discretion of the Belmont Parks & Recreation Dept. to appoint the coach.
4. If none of the coaches within the Belmont Parks & Recreation program shows interest, then the coaching position will be open to any coach.
5. At this point, if more than one coach shows interest, then it will be at the discretion of the Belmont Parks & Recreation Dept. to appoint a coach.
6. The Belmont Parks & Recreation Dept. reserves the right to remove a coach if it deems necessary.
7. The definition of coach will be the head coach and assistant coach that has filled out the volunteer coaches’ form, received a background check, and has officially been appointed by the Belmont Parks & Recreation Dept.
8. If any coach decides to quit, during any season, the coach will not be allowed to coach any team at any time for the Belmont Parks & Recreation Dept. unless a reasonable reason has been given.
9. Head coaches of each team will receive the registration fee for one player for each team they coach for only $10 in city and $20 out of city. The discount will be given only at the time of registration. No discount will be given after the fact.
