Michael Williams is a up and coming Superstar!!
Michael Williams came to our tryouts in February and I knew he was going to be a star. I walked up to him and told him he needs to average about 20 points and 15 rebounds per game and if he doesn't I will run him in practice myself. Mike has lead the team in scoring and rebounding all year. He has had a very successful season this year and leading the team to the 14u National Championship in Orlando, FL.
Mike is a quiet leader on and off the floor. His teammates has really helped him develop into a dominant player. Maurice Daniels Jr, Khalil Halls, Alex Quillen, and Steven Clark have played a major part in the growth of Mike and the Columbia Hoyas 14u team. I am proud of Coach Smith and Wright for doing an outstanding job with the kids.

The 2010 Columbia Hoyas 15u team is going to be really good this year. With the help of Coach Smith and Wright, the hoyas have went out and recruited well this season. The Hoyas will be a much bigger, stronger, and athletic team this season. I am looking forward to Mike having a better season this year. He will get an opportunity to play two age groups this year and play on the wing as well. GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!

North Augusta Super Regional 2009
April 3, 2009 --
The Hoyas played in a tough Super Regional to start the season off. The team has 9 new players this year. We also have Coach Cordell Benton added to our Coaching Staff. I look forward to a lot of hardwork this season, so parents don't look at wins and losses this year. I worry more about the development of your child this year. Back to the tournament, we played a real good SC Hornets team led by Shaq Roland(one of the top 9th graders in the state of south carolina). We lost to them 55-39, were led by Julian Brown 14pts and Corey Lloyd 6pts. The 2nd game we played sluggish and got beat by SW Bulldogs 66-35. We were led by Randall Adams with 14pts & 4rebs, Corey Llloyd with 7pts, and Alex Bueno with 6pts. The 3rd game was a blowout against the Carolina Raptors. I think the kids gave up after the first two games, we need a lot of work and it showed on the court. The Raptors beat us 73-44, we were led by Randall Adams 19pts, Alex Bueno 8pts, and RJ 4pts & 6rebs. There were some good things came out of this weekend. If the games were played by halves, we would have 2 out of 3 games. I think with some more practice and fundamental drills, we will be find.

Knoxvegas Tournament 2009
April 10, 2009 --
The Hoyas went back to the drawing board and hit the court with confidence. We went to Knoxville, TN and won the first two games with no problems. We beat the J-Town Ballers 59-52, were led by Randall Adams 21pts & 4rebs, Julian Brown 11pts, and Andrew Pirie 8pts. The 2nd game, we beat the Illinois Ballers 52-50, were led by Randall Adams and Chris Myers 12pts. Shaffarrole Jones chipped in 8pts & 4rebs and Sirod Mcdaniels had 6pts. The team played well together. The last two games the hoyas felt like they were on vacations with the play on the court. We lost to CP3 44-24, we were led by Josh Benton 6pts and RJ 4pts & 4rebs.
