  2. Check In: All Developmental coaches should check in at the DSL Registration area before their first game. When checking in, coaches must turn in a signed Playoff Roster and the Tournament Fee. Coaches should sign the roster which verifies that all players listed go to their school, are in the grades listed. Any questions should be brought to the attention of the DSL Coordinator or the school risks forfeiting their game(s). Playoff roster forms can be found under the DSL Forms link to the left.
  3. Playoff fee: The playoff fee is $100.00 per team. The fees are used to pay the referees so coaches must pay in CASH.
  4. Changeover between games and warm Up: When finished playing your game, coaches must move their teams off the field to have their team meeting. This will allow the next team to take the field. Teams should ensure that their empty drink bottles and other trash are thrown away. For warm up, coaches should warm up their team before walking on their game field. Unless you are playing the first game of the day, there is no warm up time on the field between games. The game schedule is tight so as soon as the game before you ends, coaches should move their teams to their bench. Within minutes, the referees will call for captains. Following this, the teams should say the Diocese prayer by the team benches, then the game will commence. The home team will have the bench closest to the DSL tent.
  5. Game Balls: There will be a size 4 game ball provided for every developmental game by the DSL.
  6. Parent conduct: It is important that parents do not yell at referees at any time. If this happens, parents will be warned, if it happens repeatedly, the parents will be asked to leave the field. If an extreme circumstance, a red card will be issues to the coach and/or a forfeit by the team. Parents or family members are only allowed on the spectator side line.
  7. Concession: Everyone is encouraged to use the concession which is run by Vincentian HS. Teams are discouraged from having full tailgate parties. Snacks are OK but complete meals or excessive snacks are discouraged.
  8. Weather: In the event of lightning, the DSL tent will sound an alarm and all players, coaches, and families should move to their vehicles.
  9. Tents:Tents can be set up but must be OUTSIDE of JC Stone field. If teams are outside JC Stone, coaches and parents are responsible for the safety of the kids. Also, coaches are responsible to ensure that your teams are at your field at your designated game teams.
  10. Lost and Found: The lost and found will be in the Concession.
  11. Developmental Tourney Format:
    1. The format for the Developmental Tourney is 5 field players plus a Goalie for a total of six players on the field.
    2. The goals will be 8” wide by 6” high.
    3. Players can only play on one team.
    4. There can be a maximum of 2 coaches on the sideline with the players. Other coaches or parents should stand on the spectator side.
    5. Each team will play a 4 games. After the 4 games, the team with the most points will advance to the next round. After each game, coaches should confirm the final score of that game with the referee and the DSL score keeper.
    6. Points are awarded as follows: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss. The regular games are 20 minutes running clock. The semi final game and final will be two 15 minute halves with a 5 minute half time. In the event of a tie between two teams after 3 games, the tie breakers will be:

  12. For this season’s Tournament, we will have Two Championships – a 2nd/3rd Grade Championship and a 3rd/4th Championship. Coaches will turn in signed rosters to certify that the players grades are accurate. At this time it appears that there will be 8 teams in the 2nd/3rd Championship so there will be two groups of 4 teams each. The Group winners will advance directly to the Championship Game. For the 3rd/4th Championship, there are 20 teams and the groups are under construction right now.
