    Developmental Tournament - Fall, 2009
         October 23, 2009  --   The Developmental Tournament will be held on Saturday November 5 at Youthtown. Games will begin at 8:30 a.m. and finish about 2:30 p.m.

    The Developmental Tournament will have ONE CHAMPIONSHIP and not have a separate Championship for 3rd and 4th grade.

    We will have 6 brackets of 5 teams each totalling the 30 teams. The top team from each bracket will advance to the playoffs. Thus, no teams will have to wait around unless you are advancing. Then out of these 6 teams, the #1 and #2 teams will get a bye, and the #3 through #6 seeds will play each other and so on.

    Coaches should check in at the HQ tent when you get to the field for the following:
    • Turn in a Playoff Roster for your team. All players playing in your game or on your sideline must be on the roster. Sign the roster. Playoff roster forms can be found under the DSL Forms link to the left.
    • Turn in your $80.00 playoff fee. This fee must be CASH ONLY as it will be used to pay the referees.
    • No game cards are required for the Developmental Tournament

    Developmental Tournament Format
    • Format
      • 5 Field players plus a keeper
      • Each team will have a minimum of 3 games
      • Players can only play on One Team
      • Maximum of 2 coaches on the side line
      • Home Team will be on end of Field closest to Barn
      • Game Lengths
        • Pool Games - 20 minutes Running Clock with no half time
        • Quarter Final Game - 20 minutes Running Clock with no half time*
        • Semi-Final Game - 20 minutes Running Clock with no half time*
        • Championship Game - 2 15 minute halves with a 5 minute half time*
        * For Quarter Final, Semi Final, and Final that game is tied after regulation time, the game will go directly to a shoot out with 5 shooters per team from the 8 Yard spot
    • Playoffs
      • Format: The top team from all 6 brackets will advance. Points are based on 3 points for win, 1 point for tie, and 0 points for loss. In determining the top team in each bracket, in the event that two teams are tied, tie breakers will be used.** Of the 6 teams that advance, the top 2 teams will have a bye. The remaining 4 teams will play each other as follows: #3 seed will play #6 and #4 plays #5. The winner of the 3/6 game will play the #2 seed and the winner of the 4/5 game will play the #1 seed in the semi's. These winners will play in the final. Tie breakers are listed below: **Tie Breaker to Advance to Qtr Finals and Seeding:
        1. Head to Head between two tied teams
        2. Goal Differential between two tied teams (max +3)
        3. Fewest Goals Against for two tied teams
        4. Shootout (for 1/4 Final)
        5. Coin Toss (for Seeding)
    • For player recognition, players who play in the semi finals will receive medals. Players who play in the Championship game will receive medals and trophies. Also, the will be one Most Outstanding Player from each team that plays in the Championship Game.
    • Home Team will be on end of Field closest to Barn
