The Great Pumpkin Race & Haircut
On November 15, 2008 our team and several parents participated in the The Great Pumpkin Race & Haircut to support the Children’s Cancer Fund (CCF). CCF is dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer by providing funds to the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and The University of TX Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
There were over 200 runners and we were treated to coffee and hot chocolate from Starbucks, and muffins from Otis Spunkmeyer.
Alyssa took 1st place in the Female 19 & Under division with a time of 22:38. WAY TO GO "HAMMY"!
After the race, Coach Stacey got her haircut and donated her ponytail to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that will use her ponytail to make a real wig for children undergoing radiation treatment for cancer.
Leading up to event, the team created "Busy Books" to donate to Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
