Welcome to the FCNY(tm), US CLUB SOCCER information page.

The Football Club of NY(tm) is registered with US Club Soccer which is an organization committed exclusively to the support and development of competitive soccer clubs. US Club Soccer was founded on the belief that soccer clubs, which are in the business of elite player development, need an organization of their own to foster growth, address concerns, and sanction and provide programs with a minimum of rules and restrictions.

US Club Soccer is a member of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and as such may register players, and sanction teams, leagues, tournaments and programs. This does not interfer with their registration on any Eastern New York Youth Soccer team. We DO NOT require anyone carded by an Eastern NY team to "release" your child to play with us nor do they need to provide us with your existing player pass. Each member of our organization is registered to the Football Club of NY independent of any other affiliation and will be issued a US Club pass.

Some of the added benefits of participating in our program are:

For the older players...entry into top level tournaments which have exposure to top college coaches

National ID program where players are seen by advanced scouts. ID2 identifies players in their own environment as they compete with their club teams. With US Club scouts spread out across the country observing players as they compete with their club teams during the year, the selection process is apolitical. Players are identified regardless of their affiliation

FCNY registers players several ways. The first is as a team that is trained and coached directly by the Football Club of New York. At the current time, we have several teams registered in this manner including the BU9 '99 Academy team and the GU13 Fury. The second manner is the registration of teams that are coached and trained by other individuals or organizations but that are registered to play in the HBC Soccer Club. Due to our close affiliation with the HBC Club, these teams are allowed to register with FCNY in order that they can obtain the benefits of US Club.

Philosophy
For those teams registered to play as part of the FCNY program, the philosophy is quite simple...that is, Training and Development. We are not looking to amass the top talent in any particular age group. Rather, we are looking for the team oriented player who wants to learn the fundamentals of how to play the game with other players who have the same desires and goals they do. We take pride in developing our childrens skills and understanding of the game so that they become the best that they can be.

Affiliation with US Club Soccer affords players the opportunity to explore different avenues which may not be available to them through their "regular" team. As registration with FCNY does not interfer with other organizations, children can see what level of play they wish to play in without making a committment they may not be comfortable with. Rosters can be adjusted prior to tournaments which allows for flexibility should someone not be able to attend a particular FNCY tournament or event.

Teams that are registered with FCNY but are trained and coached independently each have their own manner in which they conduct themselves but the message is still the same....training and development!

Eligibility
Any one is eligible to register with one of our FCNY teams regardless of where you live or play regular club ball. US Club soccer is independent of any other soccer League and does not interfere with your registration with any other non-US Club team. Children are encouraged to participate in our practices at any time. If you are interested, feel free to contact us for more information.

Children who play for HBC FCNY teams that are not coached and trained by FCNY must contact each team for further information.

Tournaments
Our teams participate in many of the highly recognized tournaments in the United States as the majority of tournaments accept US Club passes for registration. These tournaments include those affiliated with MAPS, the US Club National qualifiers, Score at the Shore, the Dallas Cup and many other high profile events.

Frequently Asked Questions????
1) I have been asked to join an FCNY team, what do I do next?

Complete the FCNY US Club registration form
Complete the FCNY Player/Parent Information Sheet
Complete the FCNY HBC Player/Parent/Coach Standard of Conduct form

Submit these completed forms to your coach or team administrator along with a photocopy of your childs birth certificate, wallet photograph and a check in the amount of $55.00 made payable to FCNY.

2) I am the coach, what do I need to do?

You must complete the US Club Staff Background Check Highlight the appropriate category on the first page. On the second page, highlight "club or academy" and "F.C.N.Y. Soccer (NY)-Club #1126". Complete the rest of the form as required.

Upon completion, submit a wallet photograph and a check in the amount of $35.00 made payable to FCNY.

Submit a roster consisting of each players name, their uniform number and T-Shirt size along with the other items listed above.

3) The US Club website states that the registration fee is $16.00 per player...why am I asked to pay $55.00?

The registration fee charged by US Club for each player pass is only $16.00. However, this is only a small part of the cost involved in the process. To register a player, FCNY must first scan the players birth certificate, complete an application form for each player, attach the file of each scanned birth certificate, upload the information to the US Club headquarters in S. Carolina and await the email transfer of the player passes. We must then print the passes, seperate them, attach each photograph and laminate the finished passes. FCNY also provides each team with an updated roster as needed and each player with a practice tshirt each season. Unlike LI Junior Soccer League passes (which requires semi-annual registration in the fall and then again in the spring), your US Club pass is valid for the full year. Additionally, FCNY was required to post a $1000.00 deposit with US Club at the time of our initial registration. As you can see, the fee charged covers the administative costs of providing the player passes and no "profit" is being garnered.

4) When does my pass expire?

Like all player passes issued by the USSF (United States Soccer Federation), your US Club pass is valid from the time it is issued until July 31st of the following year. All passes issued now will expire on July 31, 2009.

Coaches passes are valid for 2 years with all coaches passes issued now, expiring on July 31, 2010.

5) What do I do if I lose a pass?

New passes can be issued for a fee of $30.00 made payable to FCNY.

Please email us at fcnysoccer.optonline.net with any questions you may have regarding our program or call 516 810-8023.
