Please note: You will need to furnish your child's original birth certificate if he is a first-time football player with the Spartans. We will make a copy of the birth certificate and give it back on the spot. Proof of health insurance is also needed for all registrants.
All children receive personalized football jerseys or cheerleading shirts and trophies. The main fundraiser is sale of candy, and it is mandatory. (See mandatory candy sales.) Your child will receive plenty of individual instruction – and also the opportunity to reach his or her full potential on established teams with winning track records.
The Spartans involve about 300 children between the ages of 5 and 15. A member of the Keystone State League, our club plays its homes games at East Plymouth Valley Park. Away games are played in Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties. The junior and senior competition cheerleading squads appear in competitions throughout the Philadelphia area between January and March.
We're a 51-year-old not-for-profit organization that pours all our funds back into the children. Registration fees pay for uniforms (brand new ones for the players this year), equipment, a year-end trophy for every child, and top-of-the-line jackets for members of championship teams. Special jackets are also awarded to kids who participate for four, seven and nine years. A banquet is held every year to celebrate our kids’ accomplishments. The Spartans board meets at 8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the first floor of Franzone’s Italian American restaurant in Plymouth Township. Meetings are held at 8:30 p.m. during the football season.
We welcome you to read over this Website and email us with any questions at pwspartans@yahoo.com. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.
By signing up your child today, you’ll ensure him or her the memory of a lifetime. Here’s to a winning season in 2009-10! --PW Spartans Board
