SIX THINGS PARENTS SHOULD SAY TO THEIR PLAYER
A lot of soccer parents with good intentions give a 30 minute lecture, covering all the players supposed deficiencies and giving playing advice, in the car on the way to each match. The kids arrive far off their optimal mental state, and dreading the critique they are likely to hear, whether they want it or not, on the way home. Kids who are massaged in this way tend not to play badly, they just tend to not play, possibly to avoid making mistakes.

The easiest way to detect this problem is just to ask the player if it is a problem. Kids are more than willing to share this grief. The easiest way to correct this problem is to speak to the parents, as a group, about your expectations, and to cover this as a routine problem. Many of the parents will recognize themselves if you can present this problem with humor and illustrate the importance of the kids having fun and arriving in a good state of mind.

For best results, parents should memorize and use the following:

BEFORE THE MATCH

I love you
Good luck
Have fun

AFTER THE MATCH

I love you
It was great to see you play
What would you like to eat?

SAFETY REMINDER
The safety of our members is of utmost importance to us. We need everyone's help, coaches and parents alike, in ensuring that we all follow our league safety reminders below:

SCHERTZ SOCCER COMPLEX: The area across the street from the complex is a NO PARKING ZONE - your vehicle will be ticketed and/or towed away if you park in that area. More importantly, we do not want any of our members, especially the children, crossing the street going to or from the complex. You may park along the fenceline or inside the complex. Parking is FREE and it is cheaper than having to pay a ticket and/or a tow charge.

TRAINING AREAS: Coaches have been assigned designated training areas for their teams. Please obey the speed limit and only park in designated areas.

BOLLINGER INSURANCE
Whether indoors or outdoors, from soccer camps to tournaments, from fundraisers to team parties, from opening day to end of season, we have teamed up with Bollinger Insurance to bring our organization $2,000,000 Commercial General Liability Insurance Policy which insures those involved in organizing or administrating any league sanctioned event. Those covered include administrators, referees, coaches, field maintenance workers, concession stand workers, and other volunteers for bodily injury and property damage alleged to be caused by their negligence.

Bollinger provides all of our members with Accidental Medical Insurance, featuring a $100 deductible and a $50,000 limit. This insurance will respond for medical costs incurred for injuries sustained while participating in any league sanctioned event. Even though you may already have adequate health insurance coverage, this policy offers additional accident coverage and is included in the membership fees.

By visiting the Bollinger Insurance website, you can review the Accident Insurance Plan Summary and Liability Insurance Program Summary.
