Understanding the Volunteer Commitment
TYF Volunteer Commitment for 2009
Purpose:
The Tallmadge Youth Football Organization is run solely by its volunteers. Volunteers consist of parents, siblings, guardians, and extended family of the participants in the program. It is necessary that the Tallmadge Youth Football Organization require its participants’ family member(s) to volunteer their time in order for their child to be involved in the program.
Requirements:
The requirements stated in this contract have been voted in by the Booster Club Members. For each family involved, one family member will be required to volunteer for 5 events or Chair one event, or be a Coach, Team Mom or Commissioner in the current year that runs January to December. A $50 check will be collected from each family at registration and held by the organization until all volunteer requirements are met.
Volunteer Options:
There are many areas that TYF can benefit from your time. The organization needs Chair persons to organize, coordinate and plan events. Some examples are the Banquet, Fundraising, Sign Sponsors and Movie Night. Other ways to volunteer time is to help with concessions, field maintenance, trash pick-up, announcing at games and chain gang. (All areas where volunteers are needed can be seen on the web site. Sign ups for volunteering will be posted at registration and will be at the concession stand throughout the season.) Once the volunteer requirement is met, the $50 check that was collected by the organization at registration will be returned to you.
Penalties:
If the volunteer requirement is not completed, the $50 check will be cashed by the organization. All requirements or fees have to be paid before the banquet in order to attend the event.

Parking Issues
Attention: Parents
Another football season is underway and with that comes many parking issues. TYF has over 300 children participating in the Tackle, Cheer, and Flag programs; that is a lot of vehicles navigating our small parking lot. The lot belongs to the school system and therefore, we are unable to make any permanent changes to the spaces. We understand that parking is a problem here and we ask that everyone adopt the following guidelines when bring children to practices and games.
1. We have 3 available areas to park, Our Overdale Field lot, Overdale School, and the bus lane in front of Overdale School. Please keep in mind school hours when parking at Overdale school or in the bus lane. This is not usually an issue except during Open House and Meet the Teacher nights. We will be checking with the church across the street regarding overflow parking and we will let you know of the availability of that lot.
2. Please DO NOT park at the fire station. This is a Safety issue.
3. Please do not park in front of the Bus Garage gates. The drivers need to come and go with out difficulty. They will be coming and going at all hours the next two weeks as they prepare their routes for school. Also, field trips do run on Saturdays while games are going on. The bus drivers do not like to be blocked in. Your name will be announced over the loud speaker and you will need to move your vehicle.
4. There are 2 spots to the left of the bus gates and we ask that you do not park here as they are for booster members that need to carry in supplies for the program.
5. Please, if you are an able bodied person do not park in the first 2 spots near the entrance to the field. Save these spots for the grandparents or others that may have trouble walking. We are looking into getting some disability signs but this is a school issue.
6. Please park at Overdale school if you have a trailer attached to your vehicle or if your vehicle is oversized.
7. Please attempt to park between the marked lines. They are slanted. We know that they are very difficult to see, but please do your best. If you have a new vehicle or are just simply concerned about nicks or dings to you car, please park at the school and do not take up more than 1 parking space.
8. When dropping children off, we ask that you pull all the way into the parking lot and drop at the back gate. That is the gate closest to North Ave near the recycle bins. We will try to have this gate open by 5:45 on practice day.
***For the safety of all the children, please drive slowly through the parking lot and watch closely behind you when backing up.
Thank you all for your understanding on this matter. We hope these suggestions will improve the parking situation.
Thanks,
TYF Boosters

Message for Players and Parents
October 30, 2009 - 07:00 PM --
Tallmadge High School Varsity Football is playing Green this Friday at 7:00pm. It is an AWAY game.
We hope that many players and their families can attend this and other high school games. We encourage players to wear their youth jerseys when they attend these games. Keep in mind, that while you are wearing a TYF jersey, you are going to be held to a higher standard of behavior. TYF expects our football players to behave as gentlemen off the field. This means, respecting others and respecting property both home and away. Your coaches, parents, and the community will be judging your behavior as a representitive of TYF. Any misbehavior can/will result in loss of playing time on game days.
|

November 8, 2009 --
The TYF Cheerleaders will be in a Cheer Competition this Sunday, November 8th, at Revere High School. The competition starts starts at 11:00am. Wear BLUE and GOLD as crowd participation counts in the girls scoring.
