    Utica Baseball - Procedures
Becoming a member of the Utica HS baseball team, both you and your parents should be aware of the following:

    1) There is no guaranteed amount of playing time.

    2) Seniors have no priority over 9th-11th graders in determining playing time or any other team related items.

    3) No activities inside or outside of school can interfere with the practice or game schedule unless agreed upon at the parent meeting.

    4) 9th, 10th, 11th grade players will be encouraged, but not required, to play summer baseball.

    5) Individual play mistakes may be used as a positive learning situation with the entire team.

    6) Players will be critizied for failing to hustle 100% of the time.

    7) All team members are expected to help with the maintainance of the baseball field.

    8) All team members will be asked to participate in fund raising activities.

    9) Team members are to contact the head coach with any personal concerns directly. If the parent still has concerns regarding their son, they should contact the head coach directly. Indirect or 3rd party contacts rarely do any good in resolving concerns or problems to the satisfaction of all concerned. Remember: Players see the head coach 1st!

    10) Team members are expected to exhibit an up-beat, positive attitude. If the team members attitude is distracting from the overall goals of the team, he may not be allowed to dress for practice and/or games until the situation is resolved. This also includes attitude/conduct in the classroom and the community.

    11) Team members need to maintain flexible schedules because of the uncertainty of spring weather conditions. Team members need to be ready to compete in games not currently on the schedule.

    12) Team uniforms are turned in after every game. NO EXECPTIONS, unless you see the coach before the game. (VARSITY ONLY)

    13) Players are members of the Utica Baseball Program. Players may be assigned to either the Varsity or JV squad at any time during the season.

    14) 9th-11th grade players are not guaranteed a spot on the 2007 team.
