Game 1: West Point vs. Kiski (Tues, July 14th)
The pitching of Morgan Ryan & Micaela Zoppetti combined for eight strike-outs and only gave up one hit in West Point's Girls Softball 9-10 All-Star home opener. Zoppetti contributed a single, double, and triple in the win. Taylor Blevins also had two hits in the 15-3 victory over Kiski Valley.
For Kiski Valley, Jamie Frank had a single and Bailee Hrobak scored a run.
West Point won game 1 of this double elimination District Playoff. The West Point All-stars will play Latrobe All-stars today at 6PM at Latrobe Rotary Field.
Game 2: West Point vs. Latrobe (Tues, July 15th)
West Point's Morgan Ryan pitched six innings, struck out 9, walked 3, and allowed only 2 hits as the West Point beat Latrobe 3-1, setting up a game between Kiski Valley & Latrobe this Saturday. The winner will face West Point again on Monday, July 20th at 6PM (field to be determined).
In a game where both defenses played almost flawless softball, this close game will be remembered by all who were in attendance. Marissa LaVella singled and score a run & Micaela Zoppetti drove in two runs with a first inning single.
For Latrobe, Kenly Hoops pitched five innings, struck out five, and walked five. Amber Dreistadt singled and scored Latrobe's only run.
