THE SENTINELS WENT PLAY FOR PLAY WITH IC IN GAME ONE, PULLING OUT A VICTORY IN GAME ONE 25-23. GAME TWO WAS A DIFFERENT STORY. IN GAME 3, AN ADJUSTMENT MADE IN THE LINE UP FOR STRONGER BLOCKING, HELPED TO SPUR THE SENTINELS TO A 4 POINT LEAD LATE IN THE GAME. THE SENTINELS FOUND THEMSELVES WITH A 22-18 LEAD, BUT THE FIESTY KNIGHTS WOULDN'T GO AWAY WITHOUT A FIGHT. THEY TIED THE GAME AT 24-24, THEN EVENTUALLY TOOK A LEAD FOR GAME POINT, BUT THE SENTINELS SHOWED THE SAME FIGHT AND EVENTUALLY PULLED TOGETHER A STRING OF POINTS TO FINISH THE MATCH WITH A EXCITING VICTORY ON A DUMP BY SNEIOR SETTER COURTNEY BOURKE. THE SENTINELS TAME THE LIONS TO INCREASE THEIR CONFERENCE RECORD TO 4-0

The sophomores showed determination as they fought off a tough Lisle team. With a slow start on serve receive and no offense, the Sentinels looked as though they would be handed their first lost of the season, until they pulled off a thrilling 26-24 victory in the second set. The momentum shift was evident when the Sentinels jumped out to a 19-8 lead and never looked back, finishing with a 25-14 victory in set three. The Sentinels were led by Molly Johnson who finished with 5 aces on 16 attempts with no errors. Nicole Melechewski and Claire Conneely were also perfect behind the service line with 11, and 13 serves, respectively. Maggie Frodin led the offense with 7 kills and 12 digs. As a team, the Sentinels only had 2 serve errors on 67 attempts! The Sentinels will put their 6-0 record on line next week when they take on rivals, Coal City at home.
Scores: 19-25, 26-24, 25-14
Varsity took the wind out of Lisle's sail with a quick victory in set one 25-19. The Sentinels would have to fight off a Lisle surge early in set two when Lisle pushed to a 14-9 lead behind poor Sentinel serve receive. After a time-out, the Sentinels forced a side-out and closed the gap 14-12, and eventually 16-16, the 18-18. Lisle jumped out to a 20-18 lead, but the Sentinels remained focused and played consistent enough to pull out a 25-21 victory. The Sentinels were lead by strong serving from senior setter, Courtney Bourke. The Sentinels increased their lead to 12-4 overall, and 4-0 in conference.
Scores: Varsity 25-19, 25-21
