Congratulations to all Trotter teams advancing to the AAU Nationals this year. We have (4) teams that have qualified for nationals. The 9u team qualified, but they have decided not to go this year. They are going to start preparing for next year. The 10u team qualified at Asheville in the Super Regional and are headed to Disney World. The 12u team placed 3rd in the State to advance and are headed to Minnesota. The 13u team finished 1st in the State and are headed to Kings Island in Ohio. On behalf of the entire Trotter organization, Congratulations and Good Luck!!!!

2005 11U RANKS 9TH IN NATION

The Lady Trotters 11 and under team completed the 2005 AAU National Championship Tournament on Thursday, June 30 by being defeated by the Monterey Park Heat of California by a score of 50 to 27. The defeat placed the Trotter in 9th place Nationally for the finish of the AAU 2005 season.

Lady Trotters 11 and Under Try for the Elite 16
The Lady Trotters 11 year olds and Under Team succeeded in making it into bracket play for the AAU National Championship in Springfield, MO. The first game in bracket play put the Lady Trotters against the Maine Rockers of the New England Region on Monday afternoon. The Lady Trotters took an early lead, and despite a couple of runs by the Rockers, the Lady Trotters established a firm lead and won 48 - 34. The win advanced the Lady Trotters to the top 24 teams in the National Tournament and set up the next game against the Air Oklahoma Stars, the 2004 National Runner Up. The Trotters came out strong taking a five point lead on the 8:30 AM Tuesday morning game. The Stars began to wake up and took advantage of Trotter fouls to gain momentium and never looked back. The Stars defeated the Lady Trotters in their first attempt at the Elite 16, 65 to 32, sending the Trotters to the losers bracket to have to make their second attempt on Wednesday morning against the Motor City Suns from Detroit, MI. (The term Sweet 16 is trademarked by the NCAA.)

11 U LADY TROTTERS YBOA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!
The 11U Lady Trotters, Tennessee State YBOA Champions, became the undefeated 2004 National Champions on July 10th in Cocoa Beach Florida!
The entire 11U Lady Trotter Team traveled to Florida for the YBOA National Champion Games. They proudly held the “Tennessee State Champions” banner as they were introduced to the competition during opening ceremonies at Bayside High School.
Pool play began Sunday, July 4, at Astronaut High School. The Lady Trotters faced the Sparks from Lake Norman, NC. The first half of the game proved to be a challenge with the Sparks #52 leading her team with 8 points for a Spark lead of 12 - 9. Kaitlyn Maples had a perfect 1st half at the foul line scoring 4 points for the Trotters. Samantha Hale added 3 and Bekah Mull 2. The Trotters came alive in the 2nd half adding 23 points to the board -- Megan Cardin with 6, Kayla Orrick 4, Samantha Hale added 6, Kaitlyn Maples with 5 and Ashlee Acuff 2 for a final score of Lady Trotters 32 - Sparks 28. It proved to be the closest game of the tournament. Game 2 of pool play was Monday, July 5, at Titusville High School. The Trotters faced the Wolves from Cedar Park, Texas. The Trotters took an explosive lead in the first half with Ashlee Acuff’s 11 points, Kayla Orrick 3, Kaitlyn Maples and Bekah Mull 2 each and Samantha Hale 1 for a 19 - 5 Trotter lead against the Wolves. Dezarae Huff added 4, Kayla Orrick 2 and Ashlee Acuff 4 in the 2nd half for a 29 -11 Trotter victory. Game 3 of pool play was Monday, July 5, at Astronaut High School with the Trotters facing the Pennsylvania Ballers of PA. Once again the Trotters took a 1st half lead of 23 - 9 with Samantha Hale giving 8 points, Ashlee Acuff 7 -- including a 3 point shot from each girl, Kayla Orrick added 4, Kaitlyn Maples and Bekah Mull added 2 each. The 2nd half scoring was Kaitlyn Maples 4, Kayla Orrick 3, Ashlee Acuff and Megan Kinnick adding 1 each. The Trotters had the win with a
30 - 23 score. Game 4 of pool play was on a stormy Tuesday, July 6, at Astronaut High School. The Trotters faced the SASA Jaguars of GA. The Trotter blasted again during the 1st half with Kayla Orrick 8 points, Bekah Mull 6, Samantha Hale 5, Kaitlyn Maples 4, Megan Cardin 3 and Ashlee Acuff 2. The half ended with the Trotters up 28 - 6. The 2nd half was also in the Trotters favor with Kayla Orrick 8, Dezarae Huff 4, Megan Cardin 3, Megan Kinnick 2, and Samantha Hale 1. Final score was Lady Trotters 46 - Jaguars 13. The Lady Trotters moved into bracket play as the #1 seed from their pool being undefeated.
Wednesday, July 7, was a free day for all the teams allowing them to visit the many attractions offered in Florida. Several Trotter team members opted for Blizzard Beach Water Park and others for Univeral Studios in Orlando---where they won the VIP Tour that was offered in a ticket drawing by the YBOA. The team members enjoyed a day of VIP treatment at the Park, which meant immediate seating on the rides with a 1 ½ hour long wait.
The first game of bracket play was at Titusville High School. The Trotters had to once again face the Sparks from Lake Norman, NC. The first half proved close with the Trotters leading only by a point. Kayla Orrick had 6, Ashlee Acuff 4, Kaitlyn Maples and Bekah Mull 2 each for a 14 - 13 Trotter lead. The 2nd half was better for the Trotters with Megan Cardin adding 7, Kaitlyn Maples 6, Ashlee Acuff 5, Samantha Hale, Dezarae Huff, and Bekah Mull 2 each. The Trotters win the game with a 38 - 25 victory. Friday, July 9, the Trotters faced the Lady Stingers from Knoxville, TN. to vie for Championship game slot. The Stingers and Trotters have met four times this AAU/YBOA season with the record being 2 and 2 for each team. It was definitely going to be a challenge! The Lady Trotters pulled in front the 1st half with a 22 - 17 lead over the Stingers. The Trotters were 100% from the free throw line -- hitting all eight shots during the 1st half. Ashlee Acuff had 8, Kayla Orrick 6, Samantha Hale 4, Bekah Mull and Kaitlyn Maples 2 each. The Stingers played hard the 2nd half with #23 adding two 3 pointers to the game and #10 adding a 3 also. But with eight team fouls and the Trotters on fire at the line, the Trotters prevail with Ashlee Acuff adding 9, Bekah Mull 6, and Kaitlyn Maples adding 4 the free throw line. The Trotters ended the TWO and TWO War with a 44 - 38 victory!
Finally, the Championship Game, Saturday, July 10 at 12:00 Noon, at Bayside High School. The Trotters faced the Red Tide from Virginia -- a “Cinderella Team” with two losses in the tournament. They defeated the undefeated Palm Beach Extreme from Florida in bracket play. The Extreme was the favored team for the tournament.
The game began with Ashlee Acuff getting the tip off to teammate Megan Cardin who assisted Kayla Orrick for the 1st basket of the game. Samantha Hale sunk a 3 and Ashlee Acuff had 4, Megan Cardin 2. Bekah Mull, coming off the bench strong in the 2nd quarter, added a 3 and a basket for an intense 1st half ending of Trotters 16 and Red Tide 15. The Trotters came alive during the 2nd half scoring 22 points and holding the Red Tide to only 10. Ashlee Acuff and Kayla Orrick added 6 each, Dezarae Huff added 4 points coming in strong for the Trotters in the 4th quarter, Megan Cardin and Bekah Mull added 3 each. The Trotters took the Championship Victory with a score of 38 - 25!!!
