SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR MINORITY STUDENTS

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR MINORITY STUDENTS

If you have a college aged child at home or know someone who does, pass this scholarship information on to anyone and everyone that comes to mind. Though there are a number of companies and organizations that have donated monies for scholarships for minorities, a great deal of the money is being returned because of a lack of interest.  How about you?  What are your education goals?

There is no need for money to be returned to donating companies because we fail to apply for it. Please pass this information on to family members, nieces, nephews, friends with children, fellow alumni, churches, and community organizations. We must get the word out that money is available.

If you are a an adult learner, a college student or getting ready to become one or, know anyone who may have an interest in school these links can be valuable resources.  Our holiday gatherings can provide a great opportunity for getting together, reviewing the requirements and helping each other submit applications…what a wonderful gift!!

My Brothers Keepers College Grant- High School Seniors

My Brother’s Keeper Youth Programs has received a grant to assist upcoming seniors with their post-graduation planning. The program, APEX, is excited to guarantee program participants a complete education plan (acceptance, financial aid, registration) or a career tracked job upon graduation!

Though we have been recruiting for a few months at local schools, our numbers are VERY low. We are in search of low-income youth that attend school or live in 21229 on track to graduate in June of 2013. There is NO cost to the program. There is a stipend and many great perks involved which include transportation. Everything is individually tailored for the students. But there are NOT enough participants to move forward right now.
If you know any young person that meet these qualifications but do not live in 21229, please have them inquire too - as we do not want to turn youth away from the opportunity to use this grant.
Do not let this be another youth program that is missed out on!!
If you have any questions or need more information contact Nikotris (Niki) Perkins, by email at nperkins@mybrotherskeeperbaltimore.org or by phone 410-644-3194.

Thank you for assisting in getting the word out.

Yours in Service,
Niki Perkins
