Dear Parents and Players:

​Thank you for registering and becoming a part of the Sykesville Baseball Organization.  We are one of many great youth sports programsin the Freedom area and are proud to offer baseball to boys and girls from Sykesville, Eldersburg, and all surrounding areas.  Sykesville Baseball offers recreation leagues and travel baseball teams for boys and girls ages 4 to 22 years old.  Since its inception, Sykesville Baseball has provided a positive environment for our boys and girls to play the unique great American pastime of baseball.  Over the years our philosophy has been and will remain simple:  Everyone has the opportunity to play and learn about the great game of baseball while having fun.  

​As we move towards the 2018 season – our Board of Directors is currently discussing many possible improvements to our facilities.  First we have added a 2nd batting cage at Freedom Park.  Through our volunteershard work and persistence, we have been able to use this second batting cage through the Fall season.  There are other exciting additions & improvements for both Fairhaven and Freedom Parks that are very close to being completed.  We also have additional developments and enhancements in planning and under consideration.  Stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for more upcoming information.

The 2018 season walk in registration date is January 13 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Freedom Optimist Community Hall on Route 32 in Eldersburg (next to Pizza Hut).  Please note that all registrations will be done online via computer when you come in to sign up. All you will need is a FARC (Freedom Area Rec Council) online account and payment in order to register.  If you do not have an online FARC account; you can quickly set one up at our registration.  We will be there to assist you if needed.  Online registration has begun as of 12/1/17 and will be ongoingthrough Jan 31, 2018.  A $25 late fee is assessed for late registrations – those postmarked or completed online after 1/31/18. Be advised that you are not guaranteed a spot in the program when registering after 1/31/18, however, we do our absolute best to accommodate everyone that registers.  Your child may be placed on a wait list if their age group is full when registering late.  Therefore, we encourage you to register as early as possible.

Running a youth program of our size takes a lot of hard work year round.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our Board members, coaches, snack bar volunteers, sponsors, and other volunteers that all contribute to making Sykesville Baseball a successful program.  In addition thanks to the Freedom Area Recreation Council for their support.  Without this commitment, our success would not be possible.

In closing, I’m looking forward to seeing all of you at the ball park this season.  As always, if you have a question, comment, or suggestion, please see me or any of our Board members.  Someone is always on duty at Fairhaven Park and Freedom Park when games are being played.  On behalf of our Board of Directors and all our volunteers, we look forward to a great season of baseball and are anxious to work with the most important part of Sykesville Baseball – our players.  Thank you.
