A-Ball is the next step after T-Ball or occasionally the first year for some boys. In A-Ball the coaches pitch the ball to the hitter. Coaches will continue to develop the players hitting and defensive skills. Catchers will be outfitted in full catchers gear, but players are not allowed to lead off or steal any base

Single Elimination Tournament: There will be a single-elimination tournament the week of June 22nd.  Trophies are awarded for 1st and 2nd place and medals for 3rd place in the mid-season tournament.

Coaches:  We have 1 head and 2 assistant coaches per team.  We are always in need of head and assistant coaches and will pair coaches together per request.  If you want to coach but do not have partner coaches in mind we will do our best to pair you with an experienced coach.  PLEASE CONSIDER COACHING!  It is extremely rewarding and valuable to the kids! Previous experience is not required!

Team/Player Requests:  Please understand that we receive a high number of requests for kids to play on the same team or for a certain coach.  Due to a large number of requests and the desire to equally balance teams, we are unable to accommodate these requests.  If siblings are both playing in A-ball we will place both on the same team.

Bat Size Requirements:  THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED BAT BARREL DIAMETER IS 2-1/4" FOR A-BALL. NO EXECPTIONS! This is for the safety of the kids due to the velocity of the ball leaving the bat with larger barrel sizes.

Athletic Protective Cups:  It is advised (not required) that you equip your child with a protective cup to utilize during games.

           -  We do not play games on Memorial Day Weekend except for the preceding Friday.  Please plan accordingly.

           -  The regular season will end no later than the last week of July.

In July, Tipp City Junior Baseball will have an All-Star team to compete in the Tipp City Rec All-Star Tournament.  Tipp City and Bethel are eligible.

UPDATE:  Due to an unbalanced schedule, final standings will be determined by the least number of losses (not winning percentage.)  Head to head will be the deciding factor.  If there is a tie for first place and no head to head game has been played, a game will be played.  A determination for tournament seeding will be determined...not by runs.  It will be either best win or coin flip due to unbalance schedule.
