FAQ

When is Registration?
Please refer to posted Flyer on homepage.

What date does practice begin and when does the season typically end?
Practice will begin on July 1st. Regular season games begin at the end of August and are every Saturday. Most teams play 8 regular season games which pushes the end of the regular season to October. For divisions that have playoffs and teams that make the playoffs, the playoffs begin in October and can go as far as December. Bowl games will be available for a few weeks after the regular season ends as well.

How many times a week do teams practice and for how long?
The answer to this depends on the head coach. Teams are allowed to practice up to 10 hours per week before Labor Day or the first regular season game. After Labor day practices are limited to 6 hours per week. In the month of August (before the regular season begins) a TM team will typically practice 3 times a week for up to 2 hours. Most other teams will practice around 4 times a week for up to 2 hours. After the regular season begins, a typical TM team will practice twice a week with games on Saturday. Most other teams will practice 3 times a week with games on Saturdays.

Where are games held?
Our home games this season will be played at Solomon Calhoun Center. Away games could be at any of the home locations of the other associations in the St. Johns River Youth Football Conference

What does registration fee covers?
Registrations fees cover all activities involved within the regular season (i.e. uniforms, association fees, insurance, equipment certifications, officials etc...) Any postseason play such as Regional or National Tournament events are all sponsored thru additional fundraisers and donations.

When is the last date to receive refunds?

Refunds are at the discretion of the Executive Board. They are not given once uniforms or equipment is ordered or once practice begins. Whichever comes first.

When will I hear from my child’s coach?

TBD FOR 2017 season

Should students trying out for middle school football register?
Yes, players who are trying out for their middle school teams should register for their appropriate  age group. What this will do is secure your place with West Augustine if your son does not make the middle school team, or makes the team and decides to play for West Augustine. Once middle school tryouts are completed in early May, please notify West Augustine of your decision so we can make necessary adjustments to our rosters.

Are there weight limits?

No, in the SJRYFC all children are permitted to play with children their own age, regardless of size.

Are there boundaries?

No, any child who wants to play or cheer for West Augustine is allowed to participate.
