Fury 98 win WAGS Tournament
The Albertson Fury 98 played well in their five games at the WAGS
Tournament's top U-11 division to win the title of Champions!
After winning their three preliminary games 8-1, 3-2 and 5-0, the Fury
98 advanced to the semi-finals to face Long Island's own HBC Intense 98.
The Fury 98 held strong to defeat HBC 4-0.
In the finals the Fury 98 found themselves pitted against a fast and
talented Tophat 17 Gold team from Georgia. The Fury 98 played hard and
well to defeat Tophat 3-0 and earn their championship title. |

Albertson Fury 98 Girls help win YPSL League Championship
August 2, 2009 --
| Many of the Albertson Fury 98 girls participated in the inaugural
season for the Youth Premier Soccer League's Mid-Atlantic conference
Summer League. The girls played for the Albertson Long Island
Fury's U11 team. The regular season consisted of 3 weekends and
culminated in a "Final Four" weekend on Long Island. The LI Fury
finished the regular tournament season in second place with a record of
8 wins, 2 losses and 2 ties. Both losses and one of the ties were
to the highly skilled and competitive FC Revolution, the regular season
first place winner.
In Saturday's semi-final, the LI Fury defeated the Atlantic City
Diablos 99 with a decisive 3-0 win. Saturday's victory qualified
the LI Fury for Sunday's championship game against the FC Revolution.
Sunday's game went 46 minutes deadlocked 0-0 in a heated battle.
Early in the 46th minute the LI Fury put one into the back of the net.
The LI Fury then held strong to ensure that the FC Revolution did not
counter to eliminate the lead.

The Albertson Fury 98 end the 2008-2009 season on a high note
June 23, 2009 --
In their last league game, the Fury 98 defeated the Garden City Wildcats 6-4 in a very raining season closer. The victory marked the Fury 98's second undefeated season in LIJSL. They finished the season in Nassau County's Division 1 with a 9-0-0 record.
Earlier in the week, the Fury 98 defeated the Merrick Force in the final game of the Girls' U10 Major Division of the Waldbaum's Challenge. Four Fury girls scored to give the team a 6-1 victory against the hard playing girls of the Merrick Force.

Fury 98 Repeat Win at FC Delco Players' Cup

In a repeat of last year's FC Delco Players' Cup, the Albertson Fury 98
played the CRUSA Wildcats in the championship game. In a well played and hard
fought match, the Fury 98 once again prevailed in a 4-2 victory. CRUSA played a
very good game and the Fury 98 stepped up to CRUSA's challenge.

Albertson Fury 98 Undefeated Champs in LIJSL Division
November 8, 2008 --
The Albertson Fury 98 (Albertson Red 98 Fury to
LIJSL) completed their first season in the Long Island Junior Soccer League as
the undefeated champions of the Nassau Major Division. The girls posted an
official 45 goals for while only allowing 4 goals all season. The true
goals for/against was 69/4 (LIJSL will not post more than a five goal
differential per game).
Great Job Girls!

Albertson Fury 98 Win FC Stars Cup
August 31, 2008 --
The Albertson Fury 98 won the girls U10 Premiership
flight of the FC Stars Cup hosted by the FC Stars of Massachusetts.
The Fury 98 met the PDA O'Reilly in a truly
magnificent championship game. The Fury 98 lead off the scoring early in
the first half. The PDA O'Reilly quickly answered back with a goal of
their own to tie the game. The Fury 98 scored again, only to have PDA
battle back to once again tie the game. Regulation time ended in a 2-2
tie. The game continued on to two 5 minute, golden goal periods. The
first overtime period found the highly skilled PDA O'Reilly knocking on the Fury
door, but the Fury was able to hold on and hold them off. The second
overtime period was looking like a repeat of the first period until the Fury 98
put a corner kick into the back of the net to win the championship.
It was one of the truly best games yet for the Fury 98 and the
PDA O'Reilly played an outstanding game.

Fury 98 Win Long Island Premier Cup
August 10, 2008 --
The Albertson Fury 98 held off the U11 Division 1 East Meadow Explosion and fought to a 1-0 victory to be named the Champions of the Long Island Premier Cup Tournament's U11 Elite group!
The tournament started with an exciting game against the Fury 97 where the Fury 98 battled to a 4-3 victory. The Fury 98 went on to defeat the Oshawa Turul SC 6-1 and the Garden City Extreme 4-0.
The Fury needed a tie or a win in the final game of the tournament against East Meadow to secure their place as Champions. The team held tough to a scoreless first half. The Fury socred with about 7 mintues left in the game to take the lead 1-0. A lead they successfully defended and become Champions!
Great Job Fury 98 and thank you to our guest players: Sarah, Brianna and Kristy!

Fury 98 Have Strong Showing in Cancelled NSR Region I Cup
The Albertson Fury 98 was disappointed that the
thunder storms and drenching rain forced the cancellation of the Region I Cup
shortly after half time of their third game.
The Fury 98 battled the heat on Saturday to win
each of their games by a strong two goal margin. They were 30 minutes into
the third game with a 2-0 advantage when lightning forced the game to be put on
hold. The severity of the storm and the strong rain that later accompanied
it forced the cancellation of the remainder of the tournament.

Albertson Fury 98 Win Independence Cup
Official Tournament Results
June 28, 2008 --
The Fury '98 took first place at this year's Long Island Rough
Riders Independence Cup while playing up in the Girls Under 10 group.
While allowing 3 goals in their 6-3 victory over the U10 division 1 Plainedge
Twisters, the Fury ended up with 20 goals for with only 6 goals against.

Albertson Fury 98 take 2nd Place in U10 NSR East Coast Cup
|
Congratulations to the Fury 98 for their second
place finish at this year's National Soccer Ranking East Coast Cup. The
girls played a year up in very hot weather. After winning both of their
games the first day in 90°+ heat, they met a vey challenging Holmdel Blue
Fireballs to determine first place going into the finals. After a
scoreless first half, Holmdel was able to put score twice to take the game.
The championship game was hard fought and evenly
matched. The Fury 98 kept Holmdel out through regulation and two overtime
periods. The championship went down to a shoot out. The Fury were
able to battle through the first of the 5 penalty kicks to end it at a 3-3 tie.
Holmdel was able to put an extra one past in the single shot round to win a hard
fought championship. Congratulations Holdmel on a well won game!
Congratulations Fury for having the strength to challenge yourselves and come
out strong!

Albertson Fury 98 win PDA Spring Kickoff
April 6, 2008 --
| The Albertson Fury faced 3 teams in this weekend's PDA Spring
Kickoff Tournament and won all three games. The highlight of the
tournament was the final game against PDA O'Reilly The game was 2-1 at
the half (Fury 98 was up by a goal). The PDA team was very good but the
girls played well and managed to pull off a 4-1 win against the PDA
team.

The Albertson Fury 98 played a GREAT three games to get to
the championship game against the previously undefeated NVSC Junior
Majestics.
The AF98 battled at the end of the first half to break the 1-1 tie to end
the half with a 3-1 lead. The girls played hard to add two more goals to
win the championship 5-1.
