Coaches Code of Conduct
CLOVER PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT
Coaches Code of Ethics & Conduct
1. Focus on individual player development while teaching the benefits and values of teamwork, team chemistry, and friendship among players.
2. Develop a safe and fun training environment conducive to learning and challenges
3. Put individual player development above win/loss records. The importance of winning should never supersede the players’ safety and welfare.
4. Treat officials with respect and dignity. Teach sportsmanship, ethical values reflecting fairness, integrity, respect, and accountability.
5. Coaches must avoid any conduct which is construed as abusive toward all referees, any player, opposing coach or spectator supporting the team. It is the coaches’ responsibility to remove any player from the game when conduct is deemed inappropriate.
6. Alcohol, tobacco products (including smokeless tobacco), illegal drugs, and firearms are not permitted. Also, take an active role in educating the players about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco use.
7. Please leave the practice and game area clean.
Offenders of this code of ethics and conduct are subject to immediate dismissal from any game and subject to being removed from the Clover Recreation youth program. I have read the above information and accept these conditions as part of my commitment to the Clover Recreation youth program. Furthermore, I acknowledge my responsibility and potential penalties if I fail to honor the above conduct expectations.
